StubHub Inc. has agreed to a class action lawsuit settlement benefiting consumers who purchased tickets through the ticket resale website.
The Class is made up of anyone who, between Sept. 1, 2015, and Sept. 1, 2019, while in California, purchased at least one ticket from StubHub using the StubHub website or mobile site. Purchases made through the mobile app are not covered under this settlement.
According to lead plaintiff Susan Wang, StubHub allegedly displayed ticket fees on its site in a way that violated California law, according to the class action lawsuit. Plaintiffs claimed the platform displayed fees for the first time toward the end of the ticket-purchase process and said StubHub should have disclosed it profited from certain fees.
StubHub is an online platform allowing consumers to buy and sell tickets to events such as concerts and sports events. According to the company’s website, StubHub operates in 90 countries.
Class Members who do not opt out of the StubHub class action settlement with Wang and who submit a valid claim form will be eligible to receive either a credit toward a future StubHub ticket purchase or an electronic cash payment.
The company will issue $20 million in credits; these credits will be unrestricted and will be valid for three years.
Class Members who choose this option can expect an estimated $80 to $133 credit.
In addition, StubHub will pay up to $2.5 million in cash for valid cash claims. The actual amount each Class Member will receive will be based on the number of qualifying claims the settlement administrator receives.
Class Members who choose the cash payment option can expect to receive a maximum payment of $20; however, it’s possible the payments could be lower, depending on the number of claims filed.
The deadline for Class Members to exclude themselves from or opt out of the StubHub fees settlement with Wang is May 17, 2022.
A final approval hearing is scheduled for June 30, 2022.
The deadline to submit a claim form is June 25, 2022.

My husband and I both submitted claims and never received anything! I have tried to contact them, the website is gone and no response to emails or voicemails!
In May, I had to contact class counsel because I never received a payout despite submitting a valid, timely claim. I showed them proof of five transactions that occurred within the State of California during the class period; often for same-day events. That was enough to get a $548.70 voucher. I wonder how many other people were wrongfully excluded.
I’d like to speak to the law firm. I have a similar instance with StubHub international and they refuse to repay me for our tickets we never received.
I received a voucher for $548.70 that’s valid for three years.
