Consumers are receiving checks in the mail this week from a class action settlement involving Truvia sweetener products, which were allegedly mislabeled as “natural.”
Viewers are reporting to our Facebook page that these checks are averaging $31:
The settlement money is from a $6.1 million class action settlement approved by a federal judge in late November 2014.
The deal resolves two class action lawsuits that accused Cargill Inc. of misleading consumers into believing Truvia was “natural” when it contained ingredients that were “highly processed” and/or derived from genetically modified organisms, plaintiffs alleged.
Cargill denied that its marketing, advertising and/or labeling of Truvia was false, misleading or deceptive to consumers or that it violated any laws. However, the company entered into a class action settlement agreement to resolve the litigation and to avoid the uncertainty of going to trial.
Under the terms of the Truvia settlement, U.S. consumers who purchased any Truvia product from July 1, 2008 through July 24, 2014 were eligible to claim a cash refund of up to $45 or vouchers valued at $90.
The deadline to file a claim was Dec. 5, 2014.

I never got a check either just left a message on that number. Hope they get this striaigtened out because this is defrauding people and if they cant pay the checks they should be contacting people to let them know they wont cash and when they will. I would think this is illegal and come back to haunt them.
Yes i did receive a check BUT it bounced like a basketball, causing the biggest mess imaginable, it cost me a fortune in fees and in the end I closed my account. I have seen comments that I was not the only person that it happened to. Causing those types of issues (money) was far worse for me. if I had not applied and just stood by. I would have come out ahead They should be held accountable.
I got a check from this friday, nov. 27, 2015 for $22.96?? Everyone on here is saying they got theirs in May.
