- Where: The Toyota Land Cruiser recall is active in the United States and globally.
Toyota is recalling more than 105,000 hybrid Land Cruiser SUVs from model years 2024 through 2027 due to a faulty connection in the fuel tube that could cause fuel to leak, posing a fire risk.
The recall was announced on Oct. 23 by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) under ID 26V673.
The Toyota Land Cruiser recall affects hybrid vehicles equipped with a plastic fuel tube that connects to a metal tube, which transports fuel to the engine. If the retaining clip that secures these components is lifted, the tubes may disconnect and leaking fuel could make contact with an ignition source.
Toyota has reported 64 warranty claims related to this issue, although no injuries or fires have been confirmed.
Toyota Land Cruiser SUVs to get free inspections, repairs
Toyota has not yet identified the root cause of the problem but is taking proactive measures to address it.
In the meantime, Toyota dealers will inspect the fuel tube connection and install a supplemental clamp. If necessary, they will replace the resin fuel tube and install the clamp at no cost to the vehicle owner.
Owners of affected vehicles will be notified by mail starting Nov. 29 and are advised to contact their local dealer for inspection and repair.
