As the baby powder cancer litigation against Johnson & Johnson continues, a push for a talc free baby powder is being pushed to the growing number of concerned customers.
A number of women who had used Johnson & Johnson’s talcum powder products have alleged they developed ovarian cancer, after using the product without any knowledge of the possibility.
Now, Florida-based Era Organics is heavily marketing their USDA certified organic baby powder which is meant to be an alternative to talcum powder,in response to the growing concern over baby powder cancer.
Era Organics advertises their products to be beneficial to the body and the planet and therefore does not contain talc particles.
Talcum powder was first associated with ovarian cancer in 1971, when scientists noticed a possible correlation. Their findings were published in The Lancelet medical journal, stating that scientists found talc particles deeply embedded in the ovaries of ovarian cancer patients.
Since then numerous follow up studies have been published indicating baby powder cancer, with scientists explaining that the talc particles travel up through the fallopian tubes and land in the ovaries. These particles can stay in place for up to eight years, before festering and turning into ovarian cancer.
Overview of Talc Free Baby Powder Benefit
Era Organics representative Tyler Chase stated that the country’s reaction to Johnson & Johnson’s baby powder cancer link has left numerous customers reeling.
With mainstream talcum powder products possibly containing carcinogens, it is not surprising consumers are searching for alternatives. Chase further stated that this concern has led consumers to search for a baby powder substitute, which has the same benefits but does not carry the same risk as talcum powder.
This has led to the company to create the Talc Free Baby Powder, a USDA certified organic, GMO free, cruelty free, and all natural baby powder product. Even though this product has only been available for a short time, it has been met with widely positive responses.
Customers have liked how the product is unscented and leaves the skin feeling soft, having the same benefits as regular talcum baby powder. Era Organics states that it is committed to creating products that help the body, without damaging the plant.
This company has released a number of other organic skin care products as well, each of which are advertised to carry the same benefits as its competitors.

A number of these individuals have filed legal action against Johnson & Johnson, for failing to warn them against the possibility of ovarian cancer associated with using talc-based baby powder products.
