SkechersUPDATE: Skechers Toning Shoes Settlement checks were mailed July 12, 2013.

Hundreds of thousands of consumers will begin receiving checks for the Skechers Toning Shoe Settlement within the next few weeks, according to recent court documents.

The Court granted final approval to the Skechers class action settlement on May 13, 2013, which means checks will be mailed by July 13.

More than 520,000 claims were submitted by Class Members, according to the Final Approval Order. Due to the large number of responses, the “maximum amount” allowed under the settlement agreement may be reduced on a pro-rata basis, attorneys told the Court.

The minimum and maximum amounts allowed under the Skechers toning shoe settlement are:

$40 – $80 for Shape-ups;
$27 – $50 for podded sole shoes;
$20 – $40 for Tone-ups (non-podded sole); and
$42 – $80 for Resistance Runners

The deadline to file a claim for the Skechers class action settlement was April 18, 2013. Got mine on Tuesday. $173 and some change. I bought 5 pair of shoes all online so it was easy to get a receipt/invoice for proof of purchase. I live in New York.

  2. Jamie says:

    My relatives both got theirs in Chattanooga. If you haven’t gotten it call (866) 325-4186 and select option 4 then wait for a rep (about 20 mins) and they can tell you if you’re getting one. If you participated in the Reebok or New Balance settlements though you won’t get a check due to being involved in multiple class action lawsuits.

  3. chipoo says:

    Anyone in TN get one yet?

  4. Jamie says:

    I just called (866) 325-4186 and gave them my name after waiting 20 minutes on hold and was told I won’t get a check because I participated in the reebok lawsuit. Shame on me for owning more than one brand of shoes I guess. It’s nothing but a rip off.

  5. maxine mears says:

    Mich, no check yet. Neighbor got hers.

  7. Emily Randall says:

    Since my claim was to low for payment for Debeers Diamonds, it was an uplifting feeling 2 receive my Sketchers payment of $105.00.
    I thought there was a July 13th,2013 date that the checks were mailed . If so I’m awaiting mine

    like others have wrote about getting denied their claim..I didn’t receive my check so I called the phone number and was told that I was on a list that the FTC submitted to the class action processor, who told them not to process my claim. Apparently, i’m on some FTC list where I submitted prior claims for class actions. The only other claim I can remember filing is for Reebok. So what, my wife is an idiot and bought multiple pairs of shoes that weren’t going to make her lose weight. There was no stipulation when I filed for this class action, stating that you couldn’t have previous claims. if you didn’t have receipts, you could claim up to $200, which what I did. THIS IS WRONG for them to withhold money from people, if they can’t prove otherwise!! The guy told me “I could contact the FTC and maybe you can work it out with them”..Yeah right, when I’m done with them, maybe I can call the IRS to see if they can lower my taxes next year. Even if I somehow could convince the FTC, there wouldn’t be any money left to distribute to me. I understand that they probably did this to prevent fraud, but shouldn’t there be a letter sent out telling you, or perhaps warning you that this maybe your last claim if documentation is not provided in the future? As a US citizen, are you only allowed to get screwed once and get some sort of reimbursement? if I knew that, I would have told them to keep my $40 check from the reebok settlement, and only did the skechers claim….I guess that is all that I have to vent for…for now…

  9. Tami says:

    I got a check today for $34.43. I thought the minimum was $40? Seems like it should be more. I paid over $100 for my Shape-ups.
