Skechers Toning Shoe Settlement Checks in the Mail!

By Kimberly Mirando

Skechers toning shoe settlementGood news for everyone who filed a valid claim for the Skechers toning show class action settlement: refund checks were mailed on Friday, according to an update from the Federal Trade Commission.

The FTC announced that over 509,000 checks were mailed to consumers who bought toning shoes from Skechers USA and filed a valid Claim Form before the April 18 deadline. The checks are part of a class action settlement deal with the FTC to settle charges that Skechers used deceptive ads that falsely claimed its toning shoes could help people lose weight and strengthen muscles.

Consumers were eligible to claim between $20 and $80 in refunds from the class action settlement.

If you submitted a claim, keep an eye on your mailbox this week for a check. Checks must be cashed on or before October 10, 2013.

Congratulations to our Top Class Actions readers who have been following the Skechers toning shoe class action lawsuits and resulting settlement with us since 2010! If you received a check, we’d love to hear how much you got in the comment section below.

    @P De Rothschild

    Just wanted to say thank you for your information and I will follow up on it and see if this is the case. As for right now, I am going to set up a Facebook page and people can access our group from there. Whomever is in control of not sending my husband and myself our due refund, has a big legal battle on their hands. Like I said in my previous post, I have sent a letter demanding payment for both myself and my husband and they have a few days left to send the check. I believe if we all get together we can shine some light on these unethical and wrong things these companies are doing. Hopefully by now the individuals who have experienced this, will come forward and post on this site so I can get a numbers count. Please do not leave your personal info here, I will set up a Facebook page so everyone can message me.Hopefully I will have the time to get this up and running in the next few days. Like I said in my previous post, first you need to send a letter stated you are demanding your money and send it certified, return receipt requested. This will cost you about $5 and some change, and trust me it will be worth it. Save the receipt when you receive it back in the mail. They will sign it saying what day they received your letter. PLEASE PUT IT IN A SAFE PLACE, WE WILL NEED THAT LATER.I have also began to search the web and other sites to try to contact others who have experienced this same issue. Together we will stop these unethical practices! Enjoy your day.

    Still waiting for my check…..
    as never got a denial letter – so where is it?

    It is not the FTC that you should be mad at or take legal action against. In class action suits like this, a company was certified to handle the claims and they are the ones who did not due their job, denied us due process and they are the ones who you should complain to/file a lawsuit against. They don’t like publicity. But they area company called BMC Group and they use software to eliminate so-called shady people, which can mean that you’ve moved twice in the past ten years. Their # BMC Group: 800.655.1129 Class Action: 952.404.5700 They administer a lot of these online claim forms and collect your ip address, etc. If you bought Skechers and were disqualified illegally, your issue is with BMC.
