Skechers Toning Shoe Settlement Checks in the Mail!

By Kimberly Mirando

Skechers toning shoe settlementGood news for everyone who filed a valid claim for the Skechers toning show class action settlement: refund checks were mailed on Friday, according to an update from the Federal Trade Commission.

The FTC announced that over 509,000 checks were mailed to consumers who bought toning shoes from Skechers USA and filed a valid Claim Form before the April 18 deadline. The checks are part of a class action settlement deal with the FTC to settle charges that Skechers used deceptive ads that falsely claimed its toning shoes could help people lose weight and strengthen muscles.

Consumers were eligible to claim between $20 and $80 in refunds from the class action settlement.

If you submitted a claim, keep an eye on your mailbox this week for a check. Checks must be cashed on or before October 10, 2013.

Congratulations to our Top Class Actions readers who have been following the Skechers toning shoe class action lawsuits and resulting settlement with us since 2010! If you received a check, we’d love to hear how much you got in the comment section below.

I have not received my check either nor did I receive any letter or email of denial.

Hello guys! My husband and I have also experienced this problem of not receiving our checks for the shoes that we have purchased. Trust me, we lived in these shoes. I am actually experiencing knee problems and I believe they are due to these shoes.

I have written a letter and I am determined to pursue this until I receive a check for what I am owed. I never receive any letter stating I was denied because I was involved in another class action suit, it was not until not receiving my check and calling the number on the site that I was told this information. If I do not receive a response from the company within 10 days (it has already been 15 days since they received the letter) I will be setting up a facebook site so anyone else who is having the same issue can contact me. Depending on how many people have experienced this same issue and is willing to speak up, then I will make the decision to contact CNN and an attorney. So please if this same issue of not receiving you check happened to you, send the company a letter and give them a chance to fix this, if not we will fight and it will end up costing them a lot more than just paying the claims to begin with. If you would like to leave a question or a comment here I will try to check it at least every 24 hours. Together we can fight this guys, they can not do this; it is wrong!

I thought I’d check in here and see what others received. I also received $34.43 like many people on a claim that was said to be $40-$80. I paid just over $100 for the shoes. I have no idea why legal offices state outcomes that are too high, but it seems that they do. No big deal, but just makes you not trust what they say. At any rate, I received what others did it was a discount on the shoes.

  5. Mary says:

A class action against the FTC is in order for denying Sketcher claims without justification.

  6. Anna Beene says:

    I received 34..43

  8. Wakeelah says:

I also received a denial letter for Walborn. I received a check on the Reebok, but not the Skechers. I didn’t call the # because it seems like it would be a lost cause. They’re not going to correct anything. I thought the FTC was FOR the consumers, not against. I don’t keep receipts. I buy too much stuff to do that, especially as far back as these suits go. When we submit a claim and it says NO PROOF OF PURCHASE REQUIRED, and then the claim gets denied, that makes NO SENSE! They have no proof that WE DIDN’T BUY IT!!!

Post 192 is incorrect. The number provided in the comment (716 725 9295) goes to some guy in New York and he is not affiliated at all with this process..

  10. Mary M. says:

I call numbers all I get is a record and cannot get a live person, Tried all the numbers. Oh that my luck!. Glad others people was able to get a check. Have a Bless Day!
