Las Vegas Shooting Victims Looking to file Route 91 LawsuitNumerous persons present at the Route 91 Harvest Festival are opting to file their own Route 91 lawsuit, after sustaining injuries from the Las Vegas Shooting.

People looking to file a Route 91 lawsuit could seek damages for medical expenses and missing wages, which incurred due to the injuries they sustained from the shooting. Many people seek to take legal action after being denied coverage from victim compensation funds, for reportedly not being “injured enough.”

Along with physical injuries caused by the bullets fired and crowd trampling, other people have reportedly developed psychological issues like posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), which can sometimes be more difficult to claim injuries for.

At this point, thousands of victims have applied for financial assistance from different state fund programs designated for people who were impacted by violent crimes, including the Las Vegas Victims Fund. The Las Vegas Victims Fund was established soon after the Route 91 music festival shooting occurred, with $22 million designated for victims of the violence.

Approximately $22 million was raised just weeks after the incident, with fund administrators in charge of distributing the funds to patients suffering from injuries or other damages caused by the Las Vegas Shooting.

Overview of Route 91 Lawsuit Allegations

People who opted to file a Route 91 lawsuit allege their injuries could have been avoided, and are filing these actions against Mandalay Bay Resort and parent company MGM Resorts International for not having sufficient security measures.

In addition to MGM Resorts, LiveNation, the organizer of the Route 91 Festival is also named as a defendant for allegedly not having good enough security and for not having sufficient evacuation routes available for the crowds in case of emergency.

Furthermore, the estate of the gunman who carried out the Las Vegas shooting, is also facing upcoming litigation. There are currently over 450 plaintiffs participating in Las Vegas shooting lawsuits, with many more potential claimants expected to file their own Route 91 lawsuit.

The claimants are accusing MGM International and Mandalay Bay Resort of:

  • Having insufficient security on the hotel grounds
  • The hotel staff and security were not properly trained
  • The hotel was not equipped with adequate surveillance cameras
  • Not responding fast enough when security guard Jesus Campos was shot
  • Giving the shooter access to Mandalay Bay hotel service elevator, which gave him the ability to transport and stock weapons and ammunition in the hotel room and ultimately gave him the ability to prepare for the attack

LiveNation has also been named in the Route 91 lawsuit litigation movements, with claimants alleging that the radio company had failed to provide enough exists and sufficiently train event employees “in case of a foreseeable event, such as a terrorist attack or other emergency.”

Claimants also allege that LiveNation employees had failed to utilize the loudspeakers, video monitors or media boards to help guide the public through the attack. Instead of helping lower the number of potential injuries, LiveNation’s negligence had lead to hundreds of people getting injured, allege the lawsuits.

People who were in attendance at the Route 91 music festival on Oct. 1, 2017 and suffered harm may be able to file a Route 91 lawsuit.
