NuWave Oven Pro Plus Power Dome Maker Under Fire for Product Cracking

Manufacturers of the NuWave Oven Pro Plus Power Dome have been under a lot of fire over complaints that the covers for the countertop ovens are prone to cracking.

The complaints against NuWave state that these problems are being improperly handled and that the manufacturers have been failing to fix the problem when the owners have complained about them.

A NuWave Oven Pro Plus power dome class action lawsuit was filed in May 2018 over the defect that causes the dome to crack even with minimal use.

Overview: NuWave Oven Pro Plus Power Dome

The NuWave Oven is an over the countertop oven that uses a combination of conduction heat, convection heat, and infrared heat to cook food. The countertop oven is used alternatively to a traditional oven.

While the ovens have been advertised through the company’s marketing campaign as “durable” and “shatter resistant” the oven’s dome is reportedly prone to cracking. This requires consumers to have to replace the dome if they want to continue it.

The NuWave class action lawsuit accuses the company of having known that the domes were defective. These are linked to both the NuWave Oven Pro Plus model and the NuWave Oven Pro model.

According to a recent consumer complaint, when consumers try to replace the dome using the product’s provided one-year warranty, the company instead gets them to buy a replacement.

Other complaints by consumers include that they are also often told that the dome is out of stock. However, what happens is that the consumer is encouraged to purchase a NuWave “Power Dome,” one that is also incidentally pone to cracking.

According to the NuWave Oven Pro Plus power dome class action lawsuit, “Instead of providing consumers with free, non-defective replacements for their cracked and unusable Standard Domes, NuWave has a standard practice of manipulating consumers into paying to upgrade to NuWave’s newer, more expensive, Power Dome, an amber-colored dome which is advertised as being ‘virtually indestructible.”’

Unfortunately, if the replacement stock is available, consumers are still required to pay shipping and handling charges.

Statements being purported against the company state that NuWave should not be allowed to sell consumers defective products.

Deceptive business practices are also being alleged against the company especially when they try to sell consumers alternate dome products when they are simply asking for a replacement for the defective device.

Other claims being made as part of the NuWave Oven Pro class action lawsuit include breach of implied warranty, breach of express warranty, violation of the Illinois Uniform Deceptive Trade Practices Act, and violation of Florida consumer protection laws.
