NuWave Oven Pro Complaints Document Cracked Domes, Exorbitant Replacement CostsMultiple NuWave Oven Pro complaints have been reported by consumers who report the dome cracks after a few uses, and that hefty fees are charged to replace the part.

NuWave LLC makes and sells NuWave Oven Pro and NuWave Oven Pro Plus ovens that include clear plastic domes to contain heat used to cook food. Multiple NuWave Oven Pro complaints allege the domes are defective, prone to cracking after just a few uses.

NuWave sells the countertop ovens on its website for around $120 plus shipping and handling. The products come with a one-year warranty, but consumers say they have run into roadblocks when trying to convince NuWave to honor that warranty.

When a consumer calls NuWave to report the oven dome has cracked, he is often told the original dome is out of stock and that they must upgrade to a newer, more expensive amber-colored dome marketed as “virtually indestructible.”

The new dome has also reportedly cracked within a relatively short amount of time, according to NuWave Oven Pro complaints.

At least one class action lawsuit has been filed against NuWave over the alleged defect and the company’s response to reported problems with the domes.

NuWave Oven Pro Overview

NuWave LLC advertises the NuWave ovens as countertop alternatives to regular ovens. By purportedly using a combination of conduction heat, convection heat and infrared heat, food is cooked more evenly and faster, using less energy than a regular oven. Because there are no vents in a NuWave oven, they won’t heat up the kitchen much like a traditional oven tends to do.

NuWave ovens reportedly reach the equivalent of a 350-degree traditional oven, which means the NuWave oven components should be made of materials that can repeatedly tolerate that type of heat. Unfortunately, many NuWave Oven Pro complaints say the domes can’t take that much heat, and that they crack with minimal use.

The standard NuWave system is advertised as “durable” and “shatter resistant,” but at least one class action lawsuit alleges the standard dome contains defects that allow it crack. When consumers request a replacement, they allege they are either upsold to a “Power Dome” amber-colored replacement for additional fees or they are sold a replacement standard clear dome that is available for extraordinary shipping and handling costs.

NuWave Oven Pro Complaints

NuWave Oven Pro complaints allege the company knowingly sells a defective product and uses deceptive business practices when handling the replacement processes of cracked domes.

Here is what one customer had to say in an online review published in May 2017 after reporting to NuWave’s customer service the standard dome had cracked so badly they could no longer use their NuWave Oven Pro:

“I called customer service to see if they care enough to rectify the situation, and the answer to that is a big fat NO. The only resolution they offered was for me to order a new dome for $35 plus $15 for processing, but they would so generously drop the processing fee down to $10. It is sad that we paid over $100 for this product which is clearly defective and we’re expected to pay $45 to correct their poor design and quality. Why construct the dome out of a material that isn’t even resilient enough to withstand the heat of the oven?”

Another owner alleges she purchased or used four different NuWave ovens with clear, standard domes and that all of them cracked after just a few uses.

my nuwave amber dome cracked within a relatively short time after purchase; i will look to saee wqhen i ordered.

as an aside, for your information, i had called this company a few years ago indicating the rack that i placed my chicken on was rusting; i was told i didn’t clean it enough! i called again some months ago and asked why they still were not using stainless steel racks, that again my rack was starting to rust; i was told i cleaned it too much! never any satisfaction from this company, but a good “cooker” in other respects.
