personal injury car accidentCar accidents can be devastating, but those who have suffered from car accident injuries may find that filing a personal injury lawsuit can help them with compensation.

A recent lawsuit over car accident injuries was filed by a New York man, Dennis W., who alleges that his car was hit by a car driven by defendant James H. on Aug. 20, 2017.

According to the lawsuit, Dennis suffered from his car accident injuries as a direct result of negligence and carelessness of the defendants. The lawsuit claims James failed to keep his own car under control and violently collided into Dennis’ car from behind.

The vehicle was owned by P.C.C. Refrigerated Express, Inc., also named as a defendant in the lawsuit. Dennis filed his car accident injuries lawsuit on February 15, 2018 in the Supreme Court of the State of New York.

Filing a personal injury lawsuit can help those who have been injured due to someone else’s negligence with compensation for medical expenses, lost wages, and more. Sometimes, a personal injury lawsuit will end in a settlement amount before the lawsuit is even filed.

Personal injury claims rest on the concept of negligence—that is, the idea that another party’s negligence or carelessness led directly to your injuries.

It’s not only individual people that can be held liable in a personal injury lawsuit. Sometimes, a company may be deemed at fault—for example, a slip and fall claim could be filed against a grocery store for failing to maintain safety standards and causing the plaintiff to fall. In the case of this lawsuit, P.C.C. Refrigerated Express may also be on the hook for its part in inflicting the New York plaintiff’s car accident injuries.

Dennis’ claims are not unusual for personal injury litigation. Indeed, the majority of personal injury lawsuits are filed over car accidents. If you were injured because another driver was negligent in their driving, you may be able to file a personal injury lawsuit. A personal injury lawsuit can help compensate for medical bills, lost income, physical pain and suffering, loss of enjoyment of life, disability or disfigurement, property damage, emotional distress, or wrongful death.

Filing a Personal Injury Lawsuit

It is common for a personal injury lawsuit to be filed over car accident injuries and other negligence claims like slip and falls, dog bites, medical malpractice, work injuries, and many others.

If you have suffered from car accident injuries and want to seek compensation, you may be able to file a personal injury lawsuit. Filing a personal injury lawsuit cannot take away the pain and suffering caused by car accident injuries, but it can help to alleviate the financial burden caused by medical expenses and lost wages.

The Car Accident Injuries Lawsuit is Case No. 1:18-cv-01362-NRB, in the Supreme Court of the State of New York, County of Bronx.
