A serious elevator accident in New York led to a legal claim against a company one man claims is responsible for improper maintenance.
Plaintiff Everett T. has lodged a New York elevator accident lawsuit, saying that he suffered devastating personal injuries as a result of elevator malfunctions that could have been prevented.
The New York elevator accident lawsuit says that the plaintiff was an employee of the New York State Department of Corrections. At the time that he sustained a devastating injury, he says he was trying to get out of a malfunctioning elevator maintained by the defendant at a correctional facility in Fallsburg, N.Y.
The elevator accident injury case says that the plaintiff has unfortunately suffered severe and lasting injuries as a result of this incident.
On the Job Injury
The plaintiff claims he was an employee of the New York State Department of Corrections on Nov. 15th, 2017, and was carrying out the duties associated with his employment at the time of the accident.
The defendant, Kone Inc., was allegedly under contract to provide maintenance for all of the elevators at the Sullivan Department of Corrections facility. On Nov. 15, however, the elevator at the Sullivan location was allegedly malfunctioning; the defendant was allegedly aware of the malfunction, Everett claims, as they had already been informed about these issues for a long time period prior to the date of the accident.
The elevator accident lawsuit says that Kone had ample opportunity to repair the elevator prior to that day but failed to complete the duties contracted to them. This led to an accident linked to negligence.
According to his lawsuit, the plaintiff allegedly suffered serious economic damages, medical expenses and decreased quality of life in addition to substantial pain and suffering.
