Sharp LCD TVDid you buy a laptop, TV or monitor a while back? If so, you may be owed money under a class action lawsuit settlement with major LCD manufacturers involving price-fixing charges.

If you bought a laptop, computer monitor or television with a flat-panel LCD display between 1999 and 2006, you could be eligible for damages under a collective $538 million class action settlement with Samsung, Sharp, Hitachi, Epson, Chimei, Chungwa and HannStar.

This class action lawsuit settlement only covers consumers who purchased INDIRECTLY from these companies. “Indirectly” means that you purchased a TFT-LCD panel in a television, monitor or notebook computer from someone other than the manufacturer of that panel. If you purchased DIRECTLY from the manufactures, a separate class action lawsuit settlement affects you. Go to www.TFTLCDclassaction.com for information on the LCD Direct Purchasers Class Action Settlement, which we explain in detail here.

The “indirect” LCD panel class action settlement will resolve a class action lawsuit alleging the LCD manufacturers conspired to fix, raise, maintain, or stabilize prices of TFT-LCD Flat Panels resulting in overcharges to consumers who bought products containing the panels.

Not all of the companies have settled, but those that have settled have set up a class action settlement fund of more than $538 million to pay individual and business consumers in the District of Columbia and the following 24 states:

* Arizona
* Arkansas
* California
* Florida
* Hawaii
* Iowa
* Kansas
* Maine
* Massachusetts
* Michigan
* Minnesota
* Mississippi
* Missouri
* Nevada
* New Mexico
* New York
* North Carolina
* North Dakota
* Rhode Island
* South Dakota
* Tennessee
* Vermont
* West Virginia
* Wisconsin

The indirect LCD panel class action lawsuit settlement also includes a “nationwide” class of any person or business that indirectly purchased in the United States a TFT-LCD panel product from one or more of the Defendants between 1999 and the present.

The amount of money you will receive from the LCD panel class action settlement, and when you will receive it, is unknown at this time because the lawyers for the Plaintiffs are pursuing lawsuits against the non-settling companies. The on-going litigation may result in additional money for Class Members.

In order to receive a payment, you will need to file a valid claim form when the claims period begins. A notice about the claims process will be made available after the conclusion of the lawsuits or as ordered by the Court.

If you want to receive a notice about the claims process or future class action settlements, you should register at www.LCDclass.com or by calling (855) 225-1886.

    You are being sent this email because you filed a claim in the LCD Indirect Purchaser Class Action Settlement. This email is to provide an update on the court proceedings in this case which directly affect when payments will be disbursed under the Settlement.
    As of April 2013, the United States District Court for the Northern District of California had granted Final Approval of settlements with all of the Defendants in this case. Soon thereafter, appeals were filed by individuals/entities who had objected to the settlements, which appeals are currently pending in the 9th Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals. Based on experience with that court, it is expected that those appeals will not be scheduled for oral argument until the winter or spring of 2015, at the earliest. After oral argument, it could take one to three years for the entire appeal process to be finally concluded.
    Unfortunately, distribution of Settlement Funds cannot occur until after the appeals are all resolved. Hence, at this point, the date of the distribution is unknown but could be delayed for years.

The remaining three defendants has settled agreeing Now what the hold up is I don’t know If you ignore the process it will be in you mail box sooner that you know it. But it is still understood if that letter was supposed to be sent back or not maybe I will give them a call but as understood if you agree you do not need to do anything else but wait..

    THE WABSITE SAYS. THE LAWYERS FOR THE PLAINTIFFS ARE PURSUING LAWSUITS AGAINST NON-SETTLING COMPANIES. THE ON-GOING LITIGATION MAY RESULT IN ADDITIONAL MONEY FOR CLASS MEMBER. SO, THE AMOUNT OF MONEY AND WHEN YOU WILL RECEIVE IT IS UNKNOW AT THIS TIME.
