Hungry-Man Frozen Dinner Trans Fat Class Action Lawsuit

A federal class action lawsuit claims Hungry-Man frozen dinners and other products from Pinnacle Foods Group contain trans fatty acids, even though their labels claim otherwise. It is seeking over $5 million in damages for consumers misled into purchasing the mislabeled products.
According to the Hungry-Man class action lawsuit, Pinnacle Foods Group failed to disclose the trans fat content within its food, which violates state and federal law.
Since January 1, 2006, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has required that conventional foods declare the trans fat content on a separate line within the “Nutrition Facts” label on their packaging.
“Defendant has in the past, and as of the date of filing, continues to manufacture and distribute processed food products that mislead consumers by failing to disclose the presence and amount of trans fat therein,” the Pinnacle class action lawsuit states. “As a result of these misleading, unfair and deceptive practices, Defendant has made millions (if not billions) of dollars at the expense of the health of American consumers who are not armed with the information necessary to make informed and healthy dietary decisions.”
The Pinnacle Foods Group class action lawsuit is brought on behalf of all U.S. consumers who purchased Pinnacle’s food products, including but not limited to Hungry-Man frozen meals, which failed to declare the presence of trans fat. It is seeking over $5 million in damages for alleged violations of the Missouri Merchandising Practices Act and other state consumer protection statutes, negligence, negligent and fraudulent misrepresentation, and unjust enrichment.

Man I just had one and a peace of metel was in a chick ball and it broke my tooth and stabed my gum bad what. Can I do about sum like that

How do you make the claim that microwave dinners were the only food around? What did people eat before microwaves were created? I don’t think there was any period in the 70’s or 80’s when the only thing you could purchase at the grocery store was microwave dinners. People have to accept responsibility for their own choices. No one could ever eat a microwave dinner and assume it is a healthy choice – the rubbery fake meat, grease covered potatoes, veggies, and meats, loads of sodium that you can taste in the meals. My grandparents ate a ton of these meals and are overweight, but I have never once heard them complain someone else made them eat poorly.
You people have more issues than just making poor food choices. We have known for over 30 years that microwave dinners are awful for you and offer no nutrition. And why would you serve a Hungry-MAN meal to a 14 year old girl? These are some of the largest portions they offer for microwave dinners…why not buy her a Weight Watchers or Lean Cuisine meal? Hungry-man did not force you to buy and consume their product. And they for sure didn’t advertise it as healthy. It does offer protein, but is loaded with calories, fat, and sodium – EVERYONE knows that. The package says “one pound of food” and “fried chicken” which of those statements made you think you were making a healthy chocie? For the same price you can bake a full chicken breast that is so much better for you and pair it with a veggie. People who are too lazy to cook a fresh, healthy meal shouldn’t put the blame on food companies for their weight-management issues. I predict a lawsuit coming against several weight managemnt companies like Arena and Vivus when these overweight people don’t lose hundreds of pounds using their products and experience the advertised side-effects.
I love Hungry Man dinners and I have been trying to cut down on fattening food. Hearing that all this time I have been lied to really disappoints me. Add me to the list too please.
I purchased this product because I had thought it was a little healthier and less fats as other comparable meals and it is disgusting how this company has misleaded the consumers
I have purchased several of these hungry man dinners for my self and my children expecting them to be well balances meal plans. I have a daughter that struggles with her weight and I do as well. If I would have known the trans fat content was as high as it is in the I would not have purchased this product. I have since been purchasing healthier food choices and we are now on a gluten free, 1500 calorie diet, my daughter and I…. She is only 14 and 180 pounds size 16 pants I myself suffer from the same weight problems… Please add me to this class action lawsuit. This product has misleading information that is not supportive of the health conscious consumer looking to purchased a well balanced meal.
I have bought many of these meals thinking they would be good for the my teenager boys, they were over weight then ,now they are over 300 pds. I trusted these ppl were telling the truth. Now it makes me feel like i felled as a mom. I want to sign up for the lawsuit!!!!!!
