Numerous Top Class Actions readers are reporting they got huge surprise in their mailbox Friday – a check worth over $400 for a text spam class action lawsuit we’ve been reporting on since 2011.
The checks are part of a $6 million class action settlement between Google Inc. and consumers who were bombarded with text messages from Disco.com – a group texting platform developed by Google subsidiary Slide Inc. The settlement resolved allegations that Google Slide violated the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) by sending unsolicited text messages to consumes, sometimes dozens in a single day.
Class action settlements sometimes get a bad rap for offering small payouts to consumers. It’s Weds & I haven’t received mine either. I was thinking whether I was going to get it as well or maybe its was stalled due to Columbus Day. I’m in Mo.I wonder do they send the checks in batches or something. I sent my claim online on 4/16 & I didn’t received any denial letter either.

I have not received a check … two friends of mine (neighbors) did, since today is the 16th and the checks were mailed last week does that mean that I am not getting one?

I’ve been getting txt from Western Union & SYW msgs = deals in them it states “Consent isn’t a condition of purchase” “Txt msgs is allowed up to a week” and I got a voice mail from a security company

Helllo, i submitted a claim for the DISCO Text settlement about 6 months along and on Saturday when i checked the mail, i got a letter from the claim administrator. When i opened the letter i was in shock. The check was for $419. I was wasn’t excepted that but i’m so happy. It came at a good time. I really needed the money. Thank you Top class actions.
