Ricky Joy is recalling more than 2.3 million Sour Crush Rolling Liquid Candy bottles due to a potential choking hazard. The rolling ball on these bottles can detach, posing a serious risk of injury or even death.

The recall, announced on Sept. 10, affects candy bottles sold individually and in packs of three or 12. These bottles, which contain 1.85 fluid ounces of sour liquid candy, are available in blue raspberry, strawberry, green apple and watermelon flavors.

The bottles, featuring the Ricky Joy logo and images of a green monster, were manufactured in Colombia and imported by International Trade Imports LLC, doing business as Ricky Joy, based in Cumming, Georgia.

The products were sold nationwide at retailers, such as H-E-B and Forman Mill, as well as online at Walmart.com, CandyFunHouse.com and RickyJoy.com, from January 2023 through May 2026.

According to the recall notice, “the rolling ball on the recalled candy bottles can detach, posing a risk of serious injury or death from choking hazard.”

Consumers urged to stop using recalled candy bottles and secure away from children

Ricky Joy has advised consumers to immediately cease using the recalled candy bottles and keep them out of children’s reach.

The company is offering refunds and will provide prepaid shipping labels for the return of the products.

Ricky Joy says it has not received any reports of injuries related to the recall so far. The company is not currently facing legal action over the recall, but Top Class Actions follows candy recalls closely as they sometimes lead to class action lawsuits.
