GMC Sierra headlight issuesMany consumers have begun to report GMC Sierra headlight issues. Consumers who have taken action to file reports or even considered lawsuits say that they were never told about these GMC Sierra headlight issues when purchasing their vehicle.

Some have turned to online forums to discuss GMC Sierra headlight issues. They want to know why this particular version of the vehicle has dimmer headlights than previous model years.

In the third generation of the GMC Sierra vehicle, beginning with the model year 2014, truck owners have discovered that the headlights made between then and the present are so dim that they are concerned about their safety on the road.

Since the 2014 model, one single filament bulb was provided for both low and high beams. Automakers have historically used at least dual filament bulbs for high and low beams. Many drivers who have reported GMC Sierra headlight issues say that the low beams are completely useless and that the high beams provided with their vehicle are only slightly better.

GMC Sierra Headlight Complaints

Some of the most common complaints lodged in relation to the GMC Sierra headlight issues include concerns that cars that cost as much as $50,000 shouldn’t come with low budget headlights.

Complaints allege that the design uses a single projector for high and low beams with just one shutter that raises for high beams, that the beam pattern and the light output give little to no illumination for the driver, and that driving at night or during inclement weather can be extremely dangerous for those owners of a GMC Sierra. Drivers claim that they are being put at risk of accidents, particularly when driving in the rain or at night.

Many GMC Sierra owners have chosen to invest their own money to get replacement headlights because they see little to no illumination when they turn on their lights. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has already received hundreds of complaints about GMC Sierra headlight issues, all alleging that the manufacturer is responsible for failing to provide lights that are bright enough for driving at night.

Many of the complaints surrounding the GMC Sierra headlight issues allege that the bulbs provided with these vehicles do not even give drivers enough opportunity to recognize obstacles at night or to see signs.

Several plaintiffs have already come together to initiate a GMC Sierra headlight lawsuit in California, claiming that the company is responsible for putting drivers at risk for accidents when driving at night, in inclement weather conditions or in rural and mountainous areas due to the inadequate light for vision.

If you have leased or purchased a 2015 GMC Sierra truck and have experienced GMC Sierra headlight issues, you could be eligible to participate in a class action lawsuit investigation. You could be eligible to seek compensation if you own this vehicle and have had difficulty being able to see the road in front of you.

I own a 2015 gmc sierra 1500 slt and driving at night especially with a little rain puts me and my family at risk of a serious accident due to the very poor brightness of my headlight. I’ve spent countless dollars trying new and expensive bulbs with no improvement. Something has to be done!
