The Burlington settlement resolves allegations that the retailer violated California’s Song-Beverly Act by asking for, and then recording, the phone numbers of customers who paid for items with a credit card.

The class action lawsuit ended up going to trial and Burlington was found liable for the Song-Beverly Act violations. However, Burlington continues to deny all wrongdoings.

Class Members of the Burlington settlement included all customers who had their telephone number recorded during a California store transaction that used a credit card between Feb. 14, 2010 and Jan. 28, 2015.

The deadline to file a claim for the Burlington settlement passed on Jan. 20, 2016.
