George Tyndall Sexual Assault Victims Bring Claims Against USCHundreds of current and former students who were sexually assaulted by Dr. George Tyndall at USC are now taking legal action. More than 300 different lawsuits have already been filed associated with this issue on behalf of injured sexual assault victims.

Victims of Dr. George Tyndall have lodged lawsuits against Tyndall as well as USC, the university where he worked as a campus physician. Many of these women were attending medical appointments and allege they were subject to inappropriate verbal remarks or physical touching carried out by the doctor over the course of the exam.

Physicians often serve in an important role with regard to screenings and medical exams. But when a doctor abuses that position of power, particularly when the behavior might fall under the umbrella of sexual assault, victims are within their rights to seek recourse.

Dr. George Tyndall is a former gynecologist at the University of Southern California. More than 340 sexual misconduct lawsuits have alleged that he sexually assaulted patients in his capacity as a physician.

Patients between the ages of 22 to 52 have recently lodged claims against George Tyndall, accusing him of touching them inappropriately, performing vaginal exams without wearing gloves, and making lewd remarks directly to plaintiffs.

A doctor could be held accountable in front of a medical board as well as in civil or criminal trials for sexual assault. Many of the women who have accused this particular doctor of assault came forward after initial reports from other victims. Early reports show that many women who visited this medical center could have been victims of sexual assault during the doctor’s tenure there.

George Tyndall, the 71-year-old physician accused of inappropriate behavior and remarks, has denied any wrongdoing and claimed that exams were always managed appropriately. Numerous different civil lawsuits, however, accuse the doctor of behaving inappropriately and participating in various forms of misconduct.

An internal USC investigation determined that the behavior of Dr. George Tyndall was outside the scope of current medical practice standards and amounted to patient sexual harassment.

Dr. George Tyndall previously resigned quietly with a financial payout. At that time, according to allegations lodged in lawsuits against the University as well as the doctor, the University failed to properly address the many complaints of misconduct lodged against Dr. Tyndall.

The patients who initiated lawsuits against Dr. George Tyndall and USC claim that the university did not report the physician to the Medical Board of California at that time despite clear indications of wrongdoing. Those allegations against Dr. George Tyndall encouraged hundreds of former patients to recount their experiences with the gynecologist and come forward with their own claims.

Those patients who were sexually assaulted by Dr. George Tyndall could have grounds to pursue a lawsuit against the university as well as the individual doctor accused of inappropriate behavior. If you believe that inappropriate remarks, touching, or exam procedures were involved during your time as a patient with this doctor, you may benefit from participating in a free lawsuit investigation.
