New Wave of September 11 Cancer Afflicts FBI AgentsA new wave of September 11 cancer cases is afflicting FBI agents that helped located victim bodies and secure evidence at Ground Zero.

At least 15 FBI agent September 11 cancer cases have resulted in death with three succumbing in the seven months since March 2018, according to an article by Tickle the Wire.

The September 11 cancer cases involving agents developed because of exposure at the sites to elevated levels of toxic fumes and dust containing jet diesel fuel, asbestos, microscopic glass, and concrete, as well as metals and other debris.

The report indicates that both FBI agents helping search for possible survivors and the deceased as well as other first responders got to the crash sites immediately and most put self-protection aside in the name of urgency. These public servants both ingested and inhaled the toxins as a matter of course.

The September 11 cancer cases among then-present FBI agents are just a small part of a much larger picture. Since that historic day, 7,500 people that arrived on the scenes have been diagnosed with cancer from this same toxic overload, including cleanup and recovery workers, volunteers, first responders, and agents.

This figure partially reflects 300 New York Fire Department (NYFD) firefighter and New York Police Department (NYPD) police officer deaths, although some of these deaths were from other related diseases.

The World Trade Center Health Program, which is managed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, has provided the data concerning September 11 cancer cases. The federal health program established a location at New York City’s Mt. Sinai Hospital to monitor and treat people with terrorist attack related diseases including various cancers.

Its director, Dr. Michael Cane, is said to have definitely noted the sudden new surge in September 11 cancer cases which he too related to the completely unprotected status of the responders on that fateful day.

The September 11th Victim Compensation Fund

The original September 11th Victim Compensation Fund was closed in 2004 because it was felt it was no longer needed. Because of another previous wave of September 11 cancer cases, a newer version was opened on January 2, 2011.

President Obama signed a bill during 2015 that will continue to provide monies for the fund through the year 2020. At the time of its last funding, it had $7.3 billion available for people experiencing health issues from exposure to toxins on September 11.

The fund provides free lifetime medical care and compensation for cancer victims and their families including funeral and survival benefits if the diagnosis leads to death.

There have been numerous types of cancer as well as other health conditions identified that qualify a person if they were present near Ground Zero between September 11, 2001, and May 30, 2002. Some of these conditions are:
