Walgreens TCPA Class Action Settlement Checks Will Be Mailed Soon

Walgreens customers who filed a claim in the Telephone Consumer Protection Act class action settlement that accused the pharmacy chain of placing robocalls reminding consumers to refill prescriptions, should expect checks to arrive soon!

According to the TCPA settlement website and reader comments on our Top Class Actions Facebook page, Class Members who submitted a valid and timely claim will be mailed a check no later than May 4, 2016.

If you filed a claim for the Walgreens settlement, keep an eye on your mailbox because checks should be arriving soon!

The Walgreens class action settlement resolves allegations that the pharmacy placed unwanted phone calls to customer cellphones in violation of the TCPA.

The plaintiffs claimed that consumers who previously filled their prescriptions at a Walgreens were then sent an unsolicited robocall in order to encourage them to refill their prescription at the pharmacy.

Walgreens denied any wrongdoings but agreed to the settlement, which was granted preliminarily approval in April 2015.

Walgreens TCPA settlement Class Members include “all individuals in the United States to whom Walgreens placed a Prerecorded Prescription Call to their cellular telephone on or before April 3, 2015.”

Class Members who filed a claim in the Walgreens settlement are expected to receive an equal portion of the $11 million fund.

The deadline to submit a Claim Form for the Walgreens TCPA class action settlement passed on July 22, 2015.
