Lexmark Ventures recalled more than 26,000 Solexio Hair Stylers as the product poses an electrocution or shock hazard.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission website published the recall March 30. It applies to about 26,830 Solexio STYLR Hair Stylers, which are used to straighten hair.

According to the recall, the cord on the hair stylers can detach if the unit falls, posing an electrocution or shock hazard to users.

No injuries have been reported so far, the company says. It is not currently facing legal action over the recall, but Top Class Actions follows recalls closely as they sometimes end in class action lawsuits.

Stop using product, return for full refund, hair styler recall states

Lexmark sold the affected product at www.solexio.com and professional salons and trade shows from Dec. 2021 through Feb. 2023 for about $300.

The affected Solexio STYLR Hair Stylers are black with either a pink or gray colored handle. Product number “78T0100” for pink models and product number “78T0300” for gray models is printed on a black and gray label inside the barrel of the stylers.

Affected models have a date code between 147 and 253, Lexmark says. The date code is the middle three numbers of the serial number, which starts with 8081. The serial number is located below the product number on the silver and black label inside the barrel of the stylers.

“Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled hair stylers and contact Solexio or the retailer or distributor from whom they purchased the product for a full refund,” the Solexio STYLR Hair Styler recall states.

In related news, in 2022, around 100,000 BrushX hot air hair brushes were recalled due to posing an electrocution or shock hazard to users if the brushes fall into water while plugged in.
