Walgreens, Kroger recall more than 400,000 bottles of pain relief pills

On June 16, Aurohealth announced it recalled around 137,300 bottles of 150-count Walgreens brand Pain Reliever Acetaminophen and 25,660 bottles of Kroger Arthritis Pain Acetaminophen in 225-count bottles.

The general pain reliever was sold from October 2021 through April 2022, and the arthritis pain reliever was sold from December 2021 through March 2022. Both were sold in packaging that was not child-resistant, a requirement of the Poison Prevention Packaging Act (PPPA). This poses a risk to small children who might unknowingly swallow the contents.

Meanwhile, Time-Cap announced the same day it recalled about 209,430 Kroger aspirin (300-count bottles) and ibuprofen (160-count bottles). Sun Pharma also announced a recall of 34,660 Kroger Acetaminophen 100-count bottles.

In a similar fashion, these recalls were a result of over-the-counter products not featuring required child-resistant packaging.

Consumers should immediately store the recalled products out of the reach of children, then contact Walgreens or Kroger for information on how to dispose or return the products for a full refund, according to the recalls.

Schneider Electric recalls 1.4M electric panels

Schneider Electric recalled 1.4 million of its electric panels that were installed in homes, recreational vehicles and commercial establishments due to concerns over thermal burns and fire hazards as a result of overheating.

The indoor, outdoor and original equipment manufacturer (OEM) Square D QO Plug-On Neutral Load Centers were manufactured between February 2020 and January 2022 and sold by various Schneider Electric distributors and home improvement and hardware stores nationwide.

There have been no injuries reported in connection with the recall, but Schneider advises all consumers to contact the company to see if a replacement or repair is required free of charge.

FCA issues recall for 2018-2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee, Dodge Durango

The automaker FCA recalled just over 270,000 of its model year 2018-2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango SUVs over faulty hydraulic control units and anti-lock brake systems.

A false reading of the HCU/ABU model’s primary circuit within the vehicles can cause the brake lights to illuminate and the vehicle to start and shift out of park without driver intent.

Both vehicle models affected by the recall were built between June 10, 2018, and April 30, 2019. FCA is currently developing a remedy and noted that it has a “longstanding policy” of reimbursing owners for repairs that are subject of a field action.

Freshpet recalls cooked chicken recipe pet food

On June 17, Freshpet Inc. issued a recall for one single lot of Freshpet Select Fresh From the Kitchen Home Cooked Chicken Recipe on the U.S. Food and Drug Administration website as it may be contaminated with Salmonella.

This single lot of 4.5 lb. bags with a sell-by date of 10/29/22 was designated for destruction but a small portion of the lot was inadvertently shipped to retailers, according to the recall notice.

Salmonella can infect animals eating the product and cause negative health implications. This also poses a threat to humans and other animals, who are susceptible to being infected by the carrier.

Consumers are encouraged to dispose of the recalled product immediately, as well as contact a vet if your dog has consumed any of the product.

TJX recalls 30,600 egg chairs

TJX recalled around 30,600 of its Tommy Bahama and Martha Stewart brand Nest Swing Egg that were sold at T.J. Maxx, Marshalls, HomeGoods and Homesense stores between December 2018 and April 2022.

In the recall notice, TJC says that it received 27 reports of incidents in which the egg chair tipped over when a consumer was seated in it. Of those reports, 19 resulted in injuries including scrapes, cuts and soreness and one instance of broken ribs and a collapsed lung.

TJX advises consumers who have purchased the egg chairs to immediately stop using them and return them for a full refund or gift card to T.J. Maxx, Marshalls, HomeGoods or Homesense.
