Honda recalls Civic, Accord, Acura RDX, Acura Integra vehicles due to brake hold malfunction

Honda issued a recall for a small number of their 2023 Honda Civic, Honda Accord, Acura RDX, and Acura Integra models due to a brake hold malfunction.

The recall affects a total of 386 vehicles, which were identified through supplier and manufacturing data. The affected Honda Civics and Accords were manufactured between November and December 2022, while the impacted Acura RDXs and Integras were made between November 2022 and January 2023.

The problem arose during production, where damage occurred to a ball valve due to a foreign object getting stuck in a caulking tool, leading to inadequate sealing and the subsequent failure of the brake hold feature, the recall states.

To rectify the issue, Honda will notify affected owners via mail starting July 24 and ask them to visit a Honda dealer for repair. Those who have already paid for repairs themselves will be eligible for reimbursement, according to the recall notice. No injuries have been reported thus far.

Townsend Farms recalls frozen fruit sold at Kroger due to possible listeria

Townsend Farms issued a voluntary recall of certain frozen fruit products sold at Kroger stores across 16 states due to possible contamination with listeria monocytogenes. The recall, which the U.S. Food & Drug Administration website published June 28, is linked to a previous recall by Sunrise Growers. The affected products contain mango chunks sold at Kroger and other grocery stores.

On June 21, Sunrise Growers, a subsidiary of SunOpta Inc., voluntarily recalled frozen fruit products connected to pineapple due to potential listeria monocytogenes contamination. As a precautionary measure, Townsend Farms initiated its recall, specifically targeting frozen fruit products Sunrise Growers supplied and distributed to Kroger Stores in 16 states. The recalled products were also sold in other major retailers, including Walmart, Whole Foods and Trader Joe’s between November 2022 and March 2023.

In response to the recall, Kroger told its retail customers to remove the affected products from store shelves and inventories, the recall notice states. Customers who purchased the recalled items should not consume them. Kroger suggests either discarding the products or returning them to the store for a full refund.
