World Market recalls cocktail shakers due to laceration hazard

On May 11, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website published a recall for around 6,300 World Market cocktail shakers after the products were found to pose a laceration hazard. The Gold Metal and Ribbed Glass Cocktail Shakers are prone to cracking and breaking during use.

World Market received three reports of the shakers cracking and breaking so far, with two incidents involving injury. World Market sold them at its stores nationwide and online at worldmarket.com from August 2022 through April 2023 for about $25.

Consumers should immediately stop using the products and contact World Market for a full refund.

Empower Brands recalls PowerXL Stuffed Waffle Makers due to burn risk

Empower Brands recalled more than 450,000 PowerXL Stuffed Wafflizer Waffle Maker products after the company found hot pieces of waffle can fly out of the product during use or upon opening the product, posing a burn risk to consumers. The company has received 44 reports of incidents so far, including 34 burn injuries.

Empower Brands sold the recalled products at Walmart, Kohls, Big Lots, BJ’s Wholesale Club, Best Buy, The Home Depot, Target, Sam’s Club and other home goods stores nationwide and online at qvc.com, walmart.com, kohls.com and other websites from July 2021 through October 2022 for between $30 and $60.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled waffle makers and contact Empower Brands to receive a free latch adapter part and written instructions to complete the repair.

Eastern Meat Solutions recalls boneless pork products due to lack of inspection

Eastern Meat Solutions Inc. recalled about 40,763 pounds of raw, boneless pork products as the products were not inspected on import as is required.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) published the recall, which states that there have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to the consumption of the products so far.

The recall affects 16-ounce plastic packages containing Park Street Deli “SWEET CHIPOTLE Boneless Pork Ribs with Sauce” with Lot No. 3115 and use-by date of July 8; Lot No. 3123 and use-by date of July 17; or Lot No. 3114 and use-by date of July 8 on the packages. Consumers who have purchased these products should not consume them.

Positec recalls Blue Ridge Utility Knives sold at Target due to laceration hazard

On May 11, the CPSC published a recall for 36,250 Positec Blue Ridge utility knives with a six-inch retractable blade. The blades can become unlocked and the blade can protrude while in the original packaging, posing a laceration hazard.

There have been two reports of the blade protruding in the original packaging, both resulting in laceration injuries. Target stores nationwide and online sold the knives exclusively from August 2022 through February 2023 for about $5. The knives include Model No. BR922OU printed on the back of the package. The knife is silver in color with the Blue Ridge logo. The packaging is blue and teal with an orange-and-white mountain logo at the top.

Consumers should immediately and carefully inspect the packaging containing the Blue Ridge Utility Knife to determine whether the blade tip protrudes through the package.

Polaris recalls RZR Pro XP, Turbo R off-road vehicles due to fuel leaks

Polaris recalled more than 20,000 RZR Pro XP and Turbo recreational off-road vehicles after the vehicles were found to be prone to fuel leaks. A fuel leak can occur at the fuel pump assembly joint on the fuel tank in close proximity to a hot surface.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled off-road vehicles and contact Polaris or an authorized Polaris dealer to schedule a free repair. The dealer will replace the fuel pump assembly free of charge.

Polaris notified consumers to stop riding the vehicles and is contacting all dealers and registered owners directly to provide more details about the repair.
