World Market recalled more than 6,000 cocktail shakers as they pose a laceration hazard.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website published the recall May 11. The recall applies to about 6,300 World Market Gold Metal and Ribbed Glass Cocktail Shakers.

According to the recall, the glass cocktail shakers can crack and break during use, posing a laceration hazard.

World Market says it received three reports of the shaker cracking and breaking, with two incidents involving lacerations. The lacerations did not require medical attention, the company says.

World Market is not currently facing legal action over the recall, but Top Class Actions follows recalls closely as they sometimes end in class action lawsuits.

Stop using recalled cocktail shakers immediately, World Market recall says

World Market sold the shakers at its stores nationwide and online at www.worldmarket.com from August 2022 through April 2023 for about $25.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled cocktail shakers and contact World Market for a full refund, the company says.

Consumers with the recalled shakers can return them to a local World Market store or submit a photo of the recalled cocktail shakers and a statement that they will no longer use and will properly dispose of them. No receipt is needed to receive a refund.

The cocktail shaker is made of glass with a subtle ribbed texture and a metallic-gold stainless steel lid. The UPC number 26165837 is displayed on a sticker on the bottom of the shaker.
