Hyundai recalls Santa Fe, Santa Cruz, Kia Carnival vehicles due to fire risk

On March 17, The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) published a recall notice for 570,000 Hyundai Santa Fe, Santa Cruz and Kia Carnival vehicles as they include components that can cause a fire.

Some of the vehicles have tow hitch harnesses with circuit boards that can suffer an electrical glitch, which can result in a fire. Owners should park their vehicles outside and away from structures until they are fixed.

As an interim repair, dealers will inspect the tow hitch module and remove the fuse, if necessary, free of charge.

Second Nature Brands recalls Reese’s Pieces Brownie Brittle due to undeclared wheat

Second Nature Brands issued a recall on some of its 4-oz. packages of Gluten Free Reese’s Pieces Brownie Brittle due to them containing undeclared wheat. The U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) website published the recall March 23.

People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to wheat run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products. The company received one illness report to date.

The recall applies to 4-oz. packages of Gluten Free Reese’s Pieces Brownie Brittle with lot codes SG 1054 15/NOV/2023 1S and SG 1054 15/NOV/2023 2S. Consumers who have purchased the product should not consume it and should contact Brownie Brittle for a full refund.

Textron recalls Arctic Cat Alterra 600, Tracker 600 due to faulty A-arm

Textron recalled 3,800 Arctic Cat ATVs sold in the United States and 1,200 sold in Canada after it found the vehicles have a faulty A-arm.

The Textron recall impacts 2022 Arctic Cat Alterra 600s with Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) from NT200101 to NT202064 and 2023 Arctic Cat Alterra 600s with VINs from PT200101 to PT200679. The Textron recall also applies to 2022 Tracker 600s with VINs from NT200101 to NT201929 and 2023 Tracker 600s with VINs from PT200101 to PT200697.

The faulty A-arm can disconnect and cause a loss of steering control, leading to a potential crash and injury hazards. There have been no reports of injury so far, but consumers are encouraged to stop using the ATVs and contact Textron Specialized Vehicles for a free inspection and repair.

Dabigatran etexilate capsules recalled due to elevated nitrosamine levels

Ascent Laboratories LLC issued a recall for certain packages of its 75 mg and 150 mg capsules of the anticoagulant dabigatran etexilate. The packages may contain more than one Acceptable Daily Intake level of nitrosamine, which is known to cause cancer for those exposed to high levels of the drug over an extended period of time.

Patients who have received impacted lots of dabigatran etexilate capsules, USP 75 mg and 150 mg, should continue taking their medication and contact their physician for advice regarding an alternative treatment.

Consumers can call Ascent Laboratories about the dabigatran etexilate recall at (877) 272-7901 at any time. Issues with the pills can be reported to the FDA’s MedWatch Adverse Event Reporting program online or by downloading and printing the form.

Kawasaki recalls lawn mower engines due to potential burn, fire hazards

Kawasaki Motors recalled more than 33,000 lawn mower engines according to a recall published to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission website on March 23.

The recall involves Kawasaki engines used in riding lawn mowers sold under the Ferris brand name with mower models IS 700Z ZTR, ISX 800Z ZTR and ISX 2200Z ZTR and under the SCAG brand name with mower models Tiger Cat II and V- Ride II. The recalled engines are model year 2018 through 2022 Kawasaki FT730V-EFI series, and “Kawasaki FT730V EFI” is printed on the engine air filter cover.

The high-pressure fuel line on the engines can get damaged by contact with the fuel pump cover, causing a fuel leak that poses burn and fire hazards. Consumers should immediately stop using mowers with the recalled engines and contact Kawasaki or a Kawasaki dealer to schedule a free repair.

Potential Class Action: Consumer Deception: White Castle is no longer using milk in their milkshakes they are using a powder substitute that creates foam and fills the cups leaving the customers to think they are getting their full ounces purchased; when actually after the foam melts the customer is actually getting less than a half of the ounces they assumed they purchased in addition the taste isn’t the same.

I would like to have a case started against Hyundai on their 2015 Sonata’s with the 4 cylinder engine. They have one with 2008-2014 . But 2015 needs to have it just as well. The car looses oil and is well known to have no oil in it and blows a engine. This is dangerous as it could have your family and you in it on s freeway or highway and blow, then may cause a crash. Our son has this car with 56,000 miles on it under warranty and when he called dealership yesterday the Manager there told him to drive it till they can sed it in 2 weeks. So he had no loaner car for him and left him stranded missing work. Had to pay for a tow in to Dealership. My husband had added 5 1/2
Quarts of synthetic oil into it. The car doesn’t even have 1 drop of oil in it. Son bought brand new for over $30,000. Already put transmission in it 2 months ago and now this. He paid it off long time ago. Even bought extended warranty.
