  • Who: NewCosplay has recalled 868 units of Pokemon-themed children’s sleepwear product sold exclusively on Amazon.com
  • Why: The recall was initiated over concerns the Pokemon pajamas violate federal flammability standards and pose a burn risk to children.
  • Where: The recall is nationwide.
  • What are my options: Justice offers sleepwear alternatives to NewCosplay.

NewCosplay has announced a recall of around 868 units of its Pokemon children’s pajamas over concerns they violate federal flammability standards, creating a risk of burn injuries for children who wear them.

The recalled Pokemon pajamas were imported by Taizhou Jiawang Trading Co. and sold exclusively on Amazon.com, according to a recall posted by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) on April 20.

The CPSC is urging consumers who own the recalled Pokemon pajamas to take them away from children, stop using them and contact Taizhou Jiawang Trading Co. to receive a full refund.

The recall instructs consumers have been told to cut the recalled Pokemon pajamas in half and email Taizhou Jiawang Trading Co. a picture of the destroyed product to receive their refund.

All known purchasers of recalled Pokemon pajamas will be contacted directly

Amazon and Taizhou Jiawang Trading Co. will be contacting all known purchasers of the Pokemon pajamas product directly, according to the CPSC.

The recalled Pokemon pajamas product was sold on Amazon.com from between November 2021 and April 2022 for $30.

Consumers with more questions about the recall can contact Taizhou Jiawang Trading Co. directly by email or online

A similar recall was initiated in February for children’s robes imported by SMWVB, ChildLikeMe, Betusline, Official Apparel and BTPEIHTD and sold exclusively on Amazon.com over concerns they failed to meet federal flammability standards and posed a burn risk.
