Family Dollar has announced a recall of several varieties of its Advil products after it was discovered the Advil was stored outside of label-recommended temperatures.
The recall, posted by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), covers:
- 100-count Advil 200 mg tablets with a stock keeping unit of 0901458 and special batch numbers 3P8G, 695E, A92E, G65G, SH2R, SX8G, VT5P, WK3M, X98T and XS5P
- 24-count 200 mg caplets with SKU 0901839 with special batch numbers 3P8D, 6T8W and BA7G;
- 36-count Advil Dual-Action caplets with SKU 0902867 and special batch numbers 6Y7F, 9M5B, HM6R and VJ3H
- 50-count Advil tablets with SKU 0913023 and special batch numbers 4A3U, 564B, 6X8C, 9A3K, C72H and G64V
- 40-count Advil Liqui-Gels with SKU 0916071 and special batch numbers R95323, R96317, R96810, R97196, R97197, R97198, R97203, R97204, R99183, R99184, R99528, T00613, T01662 and T01663
- 6-count Advil tablets with SKU 0999259 and special batch numbers 2041LB, 2094LB, 2108LB, 2109LA, 2110LA, 2111LC, 2122LB, 2123LB, 2124LA, 2126LA, 2138LB, 2139LA, 2139LB, 2143LB, 2145LC, 2147LA, 2152LA, 2153LB, 2153LC, 2154LB, 2154LC, 2157LC, 2158LA, 2159LB, 2236LA, 2236LB, 2237LA, 2243LA, 2244LC and 2245LC
- 20-count Advil Liqui-Gel Minis with SKU 0999841 and special batch numbers R97214, R99598, R99600, T00617, T00618 and T03897
Customers are asked to stop using the Advil and return it to a store, Family Dollar recall says
Family Dollar says it has not received any reports of illness related to the recall so far. The company is not facing legal action over the recall, but Top Class Actions follows recalls closely as they sometimes lead to class action lawsuits.
Customers can return the medicine to the Family Dollar store where they were purchased without receipt.
Customers can contact Family Dollar Customer Service at 844-636-7687 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Eastern. Adverse reactions can be reported to the FDA’s MedWatch Adverse Event Reporting online, or consumers may call 800-332-1088 to receive a reporting form.
