Berkshire Blanket & Home Company issued a recall for nearly 30,000 heated throws and blankets over concerns the electric-powered items could overheat, posing both fire and burn hazards.Â
The recall involves heated throws and blankets sold under the L.L Bean and Berkshire Blanket brand in a variety of colors and patterns, including blue, cream, gray, hummus, striped blue and snowflake.
Berkshire says it received nine reports of the recalled heated throws and blankets burning, melting or overheating, with no reports of injury, according to the recall notice. Consumers should immediately stop using them.Â
Consumers who own the recalled heated throws and blankets can receive a full refund by filling out an online recall registration form and submitting a photo of the destroyed blanket with its cord cut, according to the Berkshire recall.Â
Recalled products sold at L.L Bean, Air Force Exchange Services, onlineÂ
Berkshire sold the recalled heated throws and blankets at L.L Bean and Air Force Exchange Services nationwide and online at several websites from August 2022-October 2023 for $50 to $180.Â
