A $1.2 million class action settlement was reached between the maker of Quadratini wafer cookies and Class Members to resolve allegations that the cookies were falsely advertised as “all natural” and “natural” when they contain artificial ingredients. If you purchased Quadratini wafer cookies, you might be able to benefit from this class action settlement.

Plaintiffs Kelly Romero and Richard H. Joseph filed the class action lawsuit against Loacker USA, Inc. in a California state court, alleging that the company’s wafer cookies include artificial ingredients and preservatives such as cocoa processed with alkali, sodium acid pyrophosphate, soy lecithin, sodium hydrogen carbonate and others. Romero and Joseph say that the inclusion of these ingredients in the cookies makes that claim that the cookies are “all natural” false.

This Quadratini wafer cookies class action settlement is for anyone in the country who purchased the cookies in all sizes and flavors from March 6, 2010 to Sept. 3, 2015 and were labeled “all natural” or “natural.” Class Members have until Nov. 30 to file a claim to benefit from this class action settlement.

Loacker does not admit to any wrongdoing but has agreed to the terms of this class action settlement to avoid the cost and risk of going to trial. This class action settlement was preliminary approved by California Superior Court Judge Peter Kirwan on Sept. 3.

UPDATE: On May 20, 2016, Top Class Actions readers who submitted a valid claim for the Quadratini wafer cookie class action settlement started receiving checks worth as much as $41.80.

I haven’t seen when final approval was so I don’t know when checks will be out. Should be pretty soon though. From what I read on the settle site as of December 10 2015 only 11,191 class members filed and we’re approved for the settlement, so the payout will be proportionally increased up to three times until the common fund of $520,253.21 is exhausted. Making an average payout of $46.49

A perfect example of how petty people can be. I am no Dietitian or Nutritionist, but if theres a long lit of ingredients you can barely pronounce then chances are they aren’t all natural. And if people are that cautious if they are eating all natural products, they would have checked the ingredients before they purchased. Who has the time to start these ridiculous lawsuits? Where people get a few dollars? Oh.. the law firms. These are extraordinary wafer cookies. And contain far less saturated fat than other wafer cookies. But that is a guess, because your mouth doesnt feel like you just ate a spoon full of Crisco. Will I now be sued fby all other wafer cookie manufacturers for assuming and making false allegations? lol
