old-spice-swaggerMen and women are flooding social media and online forums complaining about Old Spice Swagger deodorant and other Old Spice deodorant products, even posting graphic pictures of severe and painful skin irritation.

Some people who have used Procter & Gamble Co.’s Old Spice Swagger deodorant and other variations of the deodorant products say they have suffered from rashes and chemical burns.

Now the company is facing a consumer class action lawsuit brought forth by Virginia plaintiff, Rodney Colley.

Colley provided pictures for the Old Spice class action lawsuit in which he says his skin became irritated after using their deodorant.

“After only a few uses of the Old Spice product, Plaintiff suffered severe rashes, burning and discomfort requiring the Plaintiff to immediately cease using the product,” claims the Old Spice deodorant lawsuit.

The Old Spice class action lawsuit also indicates Colley is not alone in his experience with the product. The lawsuit states, “Plaintiff’s experience is by no means isolated or represents outlying occurrences. Indeed, the internet is replete with examples of consumers who have complained of the exact same issues with Old Spice deodorants.”

Old Spice Swagger Deodorant Use Leads to Rash

Additional deodorant rash pictures and comments from other consumers are included in the Old Spice deodorant lawsuit, including one from a North Carolina mother.

Sharon of Granite Falls writes, “My son has been using Old Spice Swagger Deodorant and has a rash in his armpit that is red and burning. We will never buy these products again!!! Shame on you Procter and Gamble for continuing to produce this product with all these reviews, and without warning!!!”

The lawsuit claims 12 varieties of the product cause deodorant rash, irritation, burning and other injury. Along with Old Spice Swagger Deodorant, other Old Spice scents under fire are After Hours, Pure Sport, Arctic Force, Bearglove, Lion Pride, Fresh High Endurance, Aqua Reef, Classic Fresh, Fiji, Wolfhorn and Champion.

In addition to Rodney Colley, three pictures from different consumers are in the lawsuit. Each of these consumers claims to have received skin irritation after using Old Spice deodorant.

According to the lawsuit, there are also complaints on YouTube that document “armpit irritation, rashing and burning caused by Old spice deodorant.”

“There are literally hundreds of online complaints regarding Defendant’s product(s). As such, and upon information and belief, there have been hundreds, if not thousands, of consumers damaged by Defendant’s actions and product,” says the Old Spice deodorant lawsuit.

According to Colley’s Old Spice deodorant class action lawsuit, “the problems experienced by the Plaintiff are neither isolated, nor unique. Indeed, the problem is rampant, and rather than acknowledge the serious issue, Defendant is concealing it in order to continue selling the product and reaping windfall profits.”
