Skeeter Snacks Nut Free ‘All Natural’ Class Action Settlement

A settlement has been reached in a class action lawsuit alleging certain Skeeter Snacks products were falsely and deceptively labeled as “all natural” when they actually contain non-natural, artificial and/or synthetic ingredients.

If you purchased certain Skeeter Snacks products between July 1, 2013 and June 29, 2017, you may be entitled to a cash payment from the Skeeter Snacks class action settlement.

Plaintiff Mastane Shalikar challenged the marketing, packaging and sale of certain types of Skeeter Snacks products, claiming that they were labeled and advertised as being “all natural” even though they contained artificial and synthetic ingredients such as anhydrous dextrose, lecithin, soy lecithin and cocoa processed with alkali.

Shalikar asserts that she would not have purchased the Skeeter Snacks products, or she would have paid significantly less for them, if she had known that the company’s representations about the products were false and misleading.

The defendants deny the allegations but agreed to settle the Skeeter Snacks class action lawsuit to avoid the burden and expense of trial.

The Skeeter Snacks class action settlement was preliminarily approved on June 12, 2017.

UPDATE: On Dec. 21, 2017, Top Class Actions viewers who filed a valid claim for the Skeeter Snacks “all natural” class action settlement started receiving checks in the mail worth $3. Congratulations to everyone who filed a claim and got PAID!

Who’s Eligible

Class Members of the Skeeter Snacks settlement include anyone who, between July 1, 2013 and June 29, 2017, purchased any of the following Skeeter Snacks Nut Free Products in the United States:

• Cinnamon Grahams 10 oz.
• Chocolate Grahams 10 oz.
• Chocolate Chip 36 ct. 1 oz.
• Cinnamon Grahams 36 ct. 1 oz.
• Chocolate Grahams 36 ct. 1.2 oz.
• Cookie Variety 36 ct.
• Chocolate Chip Family Pack 8 ct. 1 oz.
• Graham Variety Family Pack 8 ct. 1 oz.
• Chocolate Chip Minis 4/3 pack 8 oz.
• Double Chocolate Minis 4/3 pack 8 oz.
• Cookie Variety 4/3 pack 8 oz.
• Honey Grahams 43 pack 10 oz.
• Shortbread 8 oz.
• Honey Graham 8 oz.
• Double Chocolate 8 oz.

Potential Award

A full refund of the qualifying Skeeter Snacks products with proof of purchase or $3 without proof of purchase.

Proof of Purchase

Not required. However, Class Members who submit proof of purchase of the qualifying Skeeter Snacks products are entitled to a full refund for the products purchased while Class Members who do not submit proof of purchase are limited to a payment of $3.
