Red bull class action lawsuit is filed.

A $13 million settlement has been reached in two consumer class action lawsuits that allege Red Bull North America Inc. misrepresents the functionality and safety of its Red Bull energy drinks.

The Red Bull class action lawsuit took issue with the beverage maker’s promises that “Red Bull gives you wings” and that it “vitalizes body and mind” due to its unique mixture of ingredients that could supposedly improve a consumer’s mental and physiological performance. However, the plaintiffs allege Red Bull is no more effective than a cup of coffee or a caffeine pill.

In their class action lawsuits, the plaintiffs challenged the scientific studies posted on the Red Bull web site that purportedly demonstrated the superiority of the Red Bull energy drinks over the less expensive products that contain only caffeine. According to the class action lawsuits, there are no scientifically reliable studies that support Red Bull’s claims that the energy drink is superior to the cheaper alternatives.

The Red Bull class action lawsuits made claims for breach of express warranty, unjust enrichment and violations of various states’ consumer protection statutes.

Red Bull denies any wrongdoing and maintains that its marketing and labeling have always been truthful and accurate. However, the energy drink maker has agreed to settle the deceptive marketing class action lawsuit to avoid the burden, expense and risk of ongoing litigation.

I understand that the energy drink didnt have any side effects I was aware of but purchased off and on for several
years. Yes if I can get a claim I must be in titled to something.

    1. Waren Millabas says:

      Hi Lynn,
I just want to comment on your letter stating no side effects. I was out from June 2013 to April 2014 from being out of balance, muscle control, no appetite, nausea for two months, bodily function problems, etc. I drank two Red Bulls each day of the big cans which I think is 20 oz. of Red Bull for over a year at work. It hit me at work starting with the balance problem when walking and gradually got worst. I have been tested on several areas and the only thing that came up positive was my B6 was high. The doctors (8 total) ask me if I have been doing anything different. I said no. After I was able to sit up and think rationally I started thinking why my B6 is high. For some reason I thought of the Red Bull that I had a case in my car and I checked the ingredients and sure enough it has I think 150% or 350% of B6. I Googled B6 side effects and it was startling. I never knew or heard of B6. I had all the side effects. It’s basically effects the nervous system. It also said that the food we eat already has all the B6 we need and only the Dr. is supposed to prescribe B6 if your body is deficient because of the hazards of too much B6. With the food it was too much. News to me. I told the Dr. why my B6 is too high and the culprit is Red Bull. They shut up so quick. They didn’t want to talk about it and one of the Neurologist (UCSF) denied that was it. I even wrote down all the symptoms I had and they just shrugged it off like no big deal. The name “RED BULL” scared them. They didn’t want any involvement with this. The sad part is on my check-ups no question what so ever about the Red Bull and the only thing they said was ” At least your getting better” Bye. Well no shit. Sorry about my French. I stopped drinking Red Bull. Duh!! The Therapist told me he had a patient who had the same issues. Next session he changed his story like someone told him to shut up. Weird. Well just want to share this with you and spread the word cause everyone is different when drinking this stuff. Don’t want this to happen to anybody.

      Regards,
      Warren

      1. Monica says:

I would say this Red bull is not the cause — this is obvious ! Monster , Red bull you name it — if you drink 2 large cans a day for months on end !!! You are the cause , it’s like saying I hate 2 big Macs every day for a year and got fat !!! McDonald’s is the cause … Come on now lets be real !!! … the real question here is did you think you would get wings ?

      2. lisa says:

I have been drinking red bulls for a few years & I am having bad problems with my bladder.. If I don’t drink one my whole body hurts. They shouldn’t be able to legally sell if its so addictive & bad for you. Tonight I decided to research a little after family & friends continuously telling me,I need to stop drinking them. I want too.. But when I vet up & feel bad,its so easy to run to the store & grab one or two… After about 20 min of reading, now I’m scared to death I may have bladder cancer!. They shouldn’t be able to put death in a can and sell in every store.

        1. Doris Ann says:

You need a personal injury lawyer to file for injuries .

          1. Paul Gerard says:

Or maybe just stop drinking it and go to a doctor.

        2. DB says:

Are you serious!!! They shouldn’t be able to put death in a can and sell it in the stores…..you’re not serious are you??? Man like I said there is ALOT of stupid out there….they sell tobacco in 98% of the stores…there’s a liquor store on every corner….let not forget about the over the counter pharmaceuticals. So yea, I think you….um..yea never mind….smh

      3. Waren IsReardedt says:

        1. LOLA says:

WAREN, WHY R U ON THIS SINCE U R SO INTELLIGENT. RUDE. MAY I STATE TRUTH TO (U ) OTHERS. YOU REALLY DO NOT KNOW IT UNTIL AT TIMES U GET NO SYMPTOMS EARLY. SOME DO OTHERS DO NOT. PROBABLY DEPEND ON HABIT AND HEALTH. I AM HAVING PROBLEMS WITH MY BLADDER TOPO. FOUND OUT ABOUT YR. AGO, ABOUT THE BULL. HAD NO CONTINENCE PROBLEMS BEFORE. I JUST THOUGHT IT MADE U URINATE MORE DUE TO LIME TASTE ETC. NOW I AM AFRAID TOO. BEEN TO THE DOCTOR, BUT THEY SAID NOTHING. WHEN A DR. DO NOT WANT TO HELP YOU. THEY ARE NOT A FULL DEDICATED HONEST CARING ABOUT YOUR HEALTH. START SUEING THEM AND THEY WILL HAVE TO BE CORRECT WITH THIS AND PUT IT IN YOUR RECORD. IT ALSO COULD BE NOT WANTING TO BE BOTHERED. SATISFIED WITH PAY RECEIVING FROM U BEFORE THIS AND OTHERS, NOT INTERESTED IN THE HURT U RECEIVED. MAYBE THEY DO NOT MAKE ENOUGH MONIES TO HELP YOU. IT IS ADDICTIVE AS A DRUG. THERE SHOULD BE PARTICULAR MEDICAL HELP AND RECOMMENDATIONS TO SOMEONE THAT CAN HELP YOU WITH A MEDICAL REPORT. GOOD AND CONCERN IS HARD TO FIND THESE DAYS IN MEDICAL. FOR SOME AND MANY. ATTORNEYS WHOM RECEIVE BIG BUCKS EAT UP THE MONIES. U R JUST HELPING THEM MAKE MONEY. TRUTH IT IS.
