MOVE FREE ADVANCED SETTLEMENT UPDATE:
- Readers reported this settlement paying out $73.77 as of mid-April 2022.
- Congratulations to everyone who filed a claim and got PAID!
Consumers who purchased certain Move Free Advanced joint health supplements may be eligible to claim an estimated $66 without proof of purchase thanks to a $50 million Move Free Advanced settlement with Reckitt Benckiser.
The Class includes anyone who purchased Move Free Advanced or the Move Free Advanced Plus MSM or Plus MSM & Vitamin D varieties, other than solely for purposes of resale, between May 28, 2015, and June 24, 2021, within the United States and its territories.
Plaintiffs in a class action lawsuit against Reckitt Benckiser alleged the company advertised the products as being able to provide joint health benefits that they could not actually provide.
Reckitt Benckiser, maker of nutrition, health, and hygiene products, has a number of well-known brands in its portfolio, including Airborne, Airwick, Lysol, and Neuriva.
The company denies all accusations of wrongdoing, and the Court has not ruled in favor of either party in this case.
Instead, the parties have agreed to the settlement to avoid the cost and risks of taking the case to trial.
Class Members will be eligible for a payment from the $50 million settlement fund after attorneys’ fees and other costs have been deducted.
The settlement agreement provides for a Class Member award of $22 per bottle purchased. This amount is based on the products’ average retail price.
However, the amount of the awards may be increased or decreased depending on the total value of claims filed and other factors.
Class Members requesting an award on three or fewer bottles of the joint health supplements do not need to provide proof of purchase.
Those requesting an award for more than three bottles are required to provide proof of purchase.
In the event that money remains in the settlement fund after all payments have been issued, the funds will be donated to the Orthopaedic Research Society.
A final hearing in the Move Free Advanced settlement will take place Oct. 28, 2021.
Anyone who would like to opt out of or object to the settlement must do so by Oct. 14, 2021.
The deadline to file a claim is Nov. 8, 2021.
