A settlement has been reached in the Liberty Tax anticipation loan class action lawsuit, and you may be entitled to compensation.
This Liberty Tax class action settlement will resolve claims that the company’s financial products, which were provided by Republic Bank but facilitated by Liberty Tax between 2009 and 2012, violated several states’ laws as well as federal laws.
Furthermore, the plaintiffs of this Liberty Tax class action lawsuit allege Liberty Tax Inc. failed to properly disclose to consumers their Financial Products fees as finance charges, as well as neglected to inform consumers the APR (or Annual Percentage Rate) of what the plaintiffs of this anticipation loan class action lawsuit claim is a loan.
Liberty Tax denies all wrongdoing and liability in this anticipation loan class action lawsuit, but has decided to settle in order to avoid costly legal fees and the uncertainty of continued litigation.
According to the terms of the Liberty Tax anticipation loan class action settlement, the tax preparation company has agreed to pay $5.3 million to establish a settlement fund and compensate Class Members for the Liberty Tax financial and tax preparation products.

UNITED STATES DISTRICT COURT
NORTHERN DISTRICT OF ILLINOIS
In re: Liberty Refund Anticipation Loan Litigation, Case No.: 1:12-cv-02949
The Claims Administrator mailed checks representing full and final settlement payment to approved claimants on August 2, 2016.
Please be advised that the check must be cashed or deposited by January 29, 2017 or it will expire and will not be reissued. If the check is not cashed or deposited by the stale date, the Claims Administrator will stop payment on it, and that settlement payment shall be deemed void. No further settlement payment shall be made, and those persons will be deemed to have given up their right to any payment under the Settlement.
Approved claimants received $32.34 per year for which the claimant: (i) during 2009 through 2012, used Liberty Tax for tax preparation services AND elected to receive a financial product (such as a loan or electronic refund check) from Republic Bank that was facilitated by Liberty Tax; and (ii) filed a timely, valid claim form. Multiple submissions by the same person(s) were deemed duplicative claim submissions, were not considered valid, and are not entitled to Class Relief.
IF, AT ANY TIME FROM 2009 THROUGH 2012, YOU USED LIBERTY TAX FOR TAX PREPARATION SERVICES AND ELECTED TO RECEIVE A FINANCIAL PRODUCT (SUCH AS A LOAN OR ELECTRONIC REFUND CHECK) FROM REPUBLIC BANK THAT WAS FACILITATED BY LIBERTY TAX, THIS WEBSITE AND ASSOCIATED DOCUMENTS DESCRIBE YOUR RIGHTS IN CONNECTION WITH THE SETTLEMENT OF A LAWSUIT
You May be Eligible for a Payment from a Class Action Settlement.
A federal court authorized the Notice . This is not a solicitation from a lawyer.
This is not a legal action against you.
The Notice describes a proposed settlement (“Settlement”) in a class action lawsuit between JTH Tax, Inc., doing business as Liberty Tax Service, and Liberty Tax Inc. (formerly JTH Holding, Inc.), collectively “Liberty Tax,” and customers who received a Refund Anticipation Loan or other loan product, Electronic Refund Check, Electronic Refund Deposit or a similar financial product provided by Republic Bank that was facilitated by Liberty Tax (Republic Bank Financial Products) from 2009 through 2012. These Financial Products allowed Liberty Tax customers to choose to pay their tax preparation fees by deducting the amount owed from their tax refund for a fee (typically $29.95 or more). If you used Liberty Tax to prepare your tax returns and received a Republic Bank Financial Product, you may fit the description of the Settlement Class.
You can make a claim for a portion of the $5,300,000 Settlement Fund (net of any deductions for fees and expenses). Your claim amount depends on the number of years you purchased the Refund Products and the total number of persons making claims. To receive benefits from the Settlement, you must fill out a claim form, as described in part 4 of the Notice , and submit it by January 2, 2016.
You can exclude yourself from the Settlement (and receive no money from the Settlement but retain your right to bring a lawsuit). Your request to exclude yourself must be postmarked no later than December 2, 2015. You must follow the process described in part 8 of the Notice . If the Settlement is approved and you do not exclude yourself, you will be bound by the Settlement and will release certain claims described below even if you do nothing.
You can object to the Settlement. The deadline for objecting to the Settlement is November 3, 2015. All objections must be filed with the Court by that day and mailed to Counsel of Record in the case. See part 7 of the Notice for details.
Please read the Notice carefully. It describes your rights and options under the Settlement, which are affected whether or not you act.
NOTE: DO NOT CALL OR WRITE THE COURT, THE COURT CLERK’S OFFICE, LIBERTY TAX, OR LIBERTY TAX’S COUNSEL FOR MORE INFORMATION.
This website is authorized by the Court, supervised by counsel and controlled by Heffler Claims, the Settlement Administrator approved by the Court. This is the only authorized website for this case.

2.98 today know lie
$2.98? Or $298.00
Honestly no one is telling the truth. I called to see how much I was getting. I was told they won’t know until the checks are printed .
You are kidding me! When I got an email I was told $97. This is for 3 yearS. On their website it said checks were mailed out today. I guess we will know by the weekend. It should only take 3 days minimum to get mail.
I called the law firm today he told me they are sending them out tomorrow
Now I talk to the guy at the law firm and he said that guys full of shit or $33 max per year
They are sending them out
So, is it really true that guy said he got $1400?
That’s a good question are they sending them out today or do we get them today.
So is today the day for the checks?
I wish! It’s only like $34 per year. And over 50,000 people responded.
What state do you live in to get it so early.
