InvenTel agreed to a fraud settlement to resolve claims that it sold fraudulent KN95 masks in Los Angeles during the COVID-19 pandemic. No proof of purchase is required for consumers wishing to submit a claim.
The settlement benefits individuals who purchased and paid for a Zero Germ KN95 or Zero Germ mask from InvenTel Products LLC in California who have not received a refund for their mask purchase.
Los Angeles County’s Affirmative Litigation & Consumer Protection Division claims that InvenTel sold fraudulent KN95 masks that were not approved for sale in the United States. The advertising for these products allegedly violated California’s False Advertising Law.
InvenTel is an “as seen on TV” company that makes a wide range of products.
InvenTel hasn’t admitted any wrongdoing but agreed to pay an undisclosed sum to resolve the allegations from Los Angeles County.
Under the terms of the fraud settlement, consumers can receive a cash payment up to the full amount they paid for InvenTel masks. Payments may be lower than full refunds depending on the number of claims filed for reimbursement.
No proof of purchase is required but consumers must provide a copy of a government-issued photo ID that matches the name used to purchase masks.
There is no exclusion or objection deadline listed for this settlement.
The final approval date for the settlement is not disclosed.
In order to receive payment under the fraud settlement, consumers must submit a valid claim form by April 11, 2023.
