Electrolux Home Products Inc. has agreed to a dryer settlement class action lawsuit alleging some Electrolux dryer models contain defects that can cause them to catch fire due to lint buildup. The class action lawsuit alleged the company breached warranties, was negligent, violated consumer protection laws and unlawfully profited from the sale of the dryers.
Consumers who purchased certain freestanding clothes dryers between Jan. 1, 2002, and Dec. 31, 2011, could be eligible for benefits from the settlement.
Electrolux denies its dryers are defective or that they pose an unreasonable fire hazard to consumers. The company denies any wrongdoing but has agreed to settle the class action lawsuit to avoid the risk and expense of further litigation.
A final approval hearing in the Electrolux class action lawsuit settlement was held in 2014.
The objection and exclusion deadlines for the settlement have passed.
The deadline to file a claim for reimbursement for future dryer fires in the Electrolux class action lawsuit settlement is Dec. 31, 2022.

Class Members of the Electrolux dryer class action settlement include all persons in the United States who purchased or currently own a new Frigidaire, White Westinghouse, Kelvinator, Gibson, Tappan, Crosley or Kenmore brand ball-hitch freestanding clothes dryer manufactured by Electrolux between Jan. 1, 2002 and Dec. 31, 2011.
The Electrolux dryer settlement also includes two Subclasses, consisting of Class Members (1) who have experienced a dryer fire and (2) who experience a dryer fire in the future.

December 15, 2005 I lost my house in a fire it was such a hot fire the only thing the investigator stated was the hot spot was right at the laundry room I had put a load of clothes in the dryer before I left for work that morning. We lost everything.
I have the 2017 model stockpile.the lint catcher is so bad it fills up the dryer door that crazy people put cardboard to help it catch on fire.this is a vary bad thing to leave alone.they never fixed the problem just kept selling them.hoping we would never find out.shame on them all.shame on lowest for selling them.

I bought a Kenmore washer and dryer the dryer got too hot and the washer half washed your clothes I had to return it before my warranty ran out because it did not work for me is that included with the lawsuit as well I do have my serial number and my paperwork from hhgregg Columbus Georgia I bought it in 2000 16 August I had to return it please let me know if I qualify for a return an inconvenience of my household without a washer and dryer until I found one thank you Miss Hodo
I wish that I knew about this sooner. Ten years ago while my husband was in the hospital, my Kenmore dryer started to feel very hot and was making weird noises; I opened it up and flames were coming out of the inside back dryer things. It was very scary. Unfortunately, I thought that it was just my dryer, so I went out and bought a new Kenmore. Never ever again will I get a Kenmore dryer. I also now never leave the house with the dryer, washer, or dishwasher on. I had no idea that this could happen. I was never sent a notice.
I need to resubmit my dryer information as I have not received anything to date.
I own an Electrolux Dryer and it falls within the dates range, is this included in this settlement ? or just the dryer brands listed ?
I have not gotten my check either from the dryer
