If you purchased a Cricket cell phone between July 12, 2013 and July 9, 2018, you may be eligible for numerous benefits available in a class action settlement.
Following Cricket’s merger with AT&T, numerous consumers found that they were unable to use their Cricket Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) phones. This prompted lead plaintiff Tim Bond to file a class action lawsuit against Cricket Communications LLC in March 2015. After years of litigation, the two parties have reached a settlement.
Class Members include consumers who have purchased a qualifying Cricket CDMA phone between July 12, 2013 and July 9, 2018.
Under the settlement, Class Members are eligible for one of three benefits:
- Unlock Benefit: Settlement Class Members will be able to unlock their qualifying CDMA phone which may allow them to activate the phone with another wireless carrier.
- Data Benefit: Settlement Class Members will be able to port an existing wireless number onto a new line of Cricket service without paying an activation fee, and receive an additional 1 GB of high speed data for free after maintaining one month of service.
- Four Month Data Benefit: Settlement Class Members who maintain one month of future Cricket service on either an existing or new line of Cricket service will be able to receive 1 GB of free high speed data for up to four subsequent consecutive months of timely prepaid service.
Claim Forms can be submitted online or through the mail, but must be submitted by Feb. 4, 2019.
Class counsel will ask for attorneys’ fees and expenses up to $300,000. Bond will potentially receive a service award payment of $3,500.
Class Members who want to object or opt out of the Cricket class action settlement must do so by Oct. 9, 2018.
A final approval hearing is scheduled for Nov. 16, 2018.

I’ve bought two phones through Cricket! And still have one activated to this day?
I had been with Cricket for years even when ATT bought them the phones and services stuck I use to love them but now I think they are shady, my niece bought a phone from them she was so excited 3 months later her phone doesn’t work and I look like the bad Aunt not cool Cricket.
I have cricket an went to AT&T an they merge together they both sucks I got to find me omething better Verizon i.e. To dam high cannot afford them.
I purchased a phone and a hot slot from cricket. Everything was going well until I was robbed. I went online to find my phone’s location and was able to see where the robber was. Afraid for my personal data I clicked that it had been stolen. They then turned off the phone. Well, that doesn’t help crime victims. I could no longer view where the lho e was and they won’t assist in any way. How does that help crime victims?!/
I like Cricket but brought my phone and am told I cannot purchase the hotspot. Please advise if this is ethical.
I purchase a new phone with cricket and not even six months later they merged with At&T. Where I live we did not get reception and had no other choice but to go to a different provider. What can be done with about that?
I bought a cricket cell phone during that time frame and should still have the phone. I believe I recently saw it in my super organized house or car. I never used it much. I have a minor tremor and cell phones and I don’t get along well. I now use a flip phone ie G3. Have you interest in me for a case? I didn’t understand what my remedy/reward would be. I am not interested in more phone time. Money is good. I have no problem with money.

I was with cricket sense 2008 -2014 and yes they did me wrong big time, what are my rights here Scott… I still have there phones at home an ever the hotspot device they offer on the past, they failed me and that’s why I left them, I’m now with att and I know att bought them but I thought it was going to be better but is not… att is ripping people off badly and sadly and they have to many outages and dont want to help me ether… the network got worst then ever before after they got there 5g LTE network.
Is like we are paying the price for there new network. Att is doing something illegally yo our services… but going back to cricket, I was affected and I dont want to go back to such a horrible service, cricket network has been the worse ever.
I had never experienced si much pain and suffering with a service like cricket, followed by att. Please help
