If you purchased a Cricket cell phone between July 12, 2013 and July 9, 2018, you may be eligible for numerous benefits available in a class action settlement.
Following Cricket’s merger with AT&T, numerous consumers found that they were unable to use their Cricket Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) phones. This prompted lead plaintiff Tim Bond to file a class action lawsuit against Cricket Communications LLC in March 2015. After years of litigation, the two parties have reached a settlement.
Class Members include consumers who have purchased a qualifying Cricket CDMA phone between July 12, 2013 and July 9, 2018.
Under the settlement, Class Members are eligible for one of three benefits:
- Unlock Benefit: Settlement Class Members will be able to unlock their qualifying CDMA phone which may allow them to activate the phone with another wireless carrier.
- Data Benefit: Settlement Class Members will be able to port an existing wireless number onto a new line of Cricket service without paying an activation fee, and receive an additional 1 GB of high speed data for free after maintaining one month of service.
- Four Month Data Benefit: Settlement Class Members who maintain one month of future Cricket service on either an existing or new line of Cricket service will be able to receive 1 GB of free high speed data for up to four subsequent consecutive months of timely prepaid service.
Claim Forms can be submitted online or through the mail, but must be submitted by Feb. 4, 2019.
Class counsel will ask for attorneys’ fees and expenses up to $300,000. Bond will potentially receive a service award payment of $3,500.
Class Members who want to object or opt out of the Cricket class action settlement must do so by Oct. 9, 2018.
A final approval hearing is scheduled for Nov. 16, 2018.

I was with cricket for years and finally changed carriers to metro pc. How can I be
Compensated?
I’ve been a cricket user for 2 years. Not the happiest camper either. Am I eligible still? I still use the same galaxy amp prime I bought from them when I signed up. Am I still able to join up in the case ?
Me too. I cannot tell you how many times I bought phones from Cricket and no longer have them. I was a cricket customer from Jan 2009 to May 2017. I changed to Metro and now I have bBoost, and a ZTE that is havked daily! Tell me about there being no justice whatsoever,! The rich keep getting……fFJ Adams

I was a cricket customer for a few years.now I’m under contract with a new service what do I do
What about those of us who are no longer with cricket and no longer have the phones due to going to new carriers? What are we supposed to do?
What if you no longer have the phone or the IMEI number?
how much founds were awarded.
BECAUSE I BOUGHT MY PHONE AT CRICKET BUT DUE TO THE HIGH PRICES AND CHANGED CARRIERS BUT CANNOT TAKE THE CRICKET INSIGNIA OFF MY PHONE.
WHAT ABOUT CONSUMERS WHO ALREADY WENT TO DIFFERENT CARRIERS SO WHAT DO WE GET IM OLD CRICKET CUSTOM GOT A POSTCARD WITH CLAIM NUMBER NOT FAIR TO CUSTOMERS WHO WENT TO DIFFERENT COMPANIES ALREADY WE DESERVE SOME TYPE OF PAYMENT
AT and T and Cricket drives out customers inconveniences and leaves them to run to another phone providers from monopolize business.
