Congratulations to everyone who filed a claim and got PAID!
Certain consumers are eligible to claim cash or Bumble SuperSwipes thanks to a $3 million Bumble class action settlement resolving claims of discrimination in Bumble messaging.
The Class is made up of Bumble app users in California who used the app between May 29, 2016, and July 1, 2021, and identified as a man interested in women.
A class action lawsuit had accused Bumble of discriminating against male app users who identified as being interested in women because the Bumble app only allows women to send messages first.
The Bumble dating app grew to 100 million users in 2020, according to Business of Apps.
Bumble denies any allegations of wrongdoing, and the Court has not ruled in favor of either party.
Instead, the parties have agreed to a settlement resolving the issue in order to avoid the cost and burden of moving forward with litigation.
If the Court grants final approval in the settlement, each Class Member who had an active Bumble app account on the notice date and does not ask to be excluded from the settlement will receive a one-time deposit of 20 free Bumble SuperSwipes — a total benefit value of $31.98 — in their Bumble app account.
Class Members who submit a valid claim will be eligible to receive a proportionate share of the Bumble messaging settlement fund after attorneys’ fees and other expenses have been deducted.
Class Members without an active Bumble app account or who elect not to receive the 20 free Bumble SuperSwipes and who submit a valid claim will receive two portions of the pro rata share from the settlement fund.
It is expected that the pro rata share will be about $30; however, that number could be adjusted up or down based on the number of claims submitted. A final share amount will not be determined until after the claim deadline.
In addition to the monetary relief, Bumble has agreed to revise its practices regarding male users who identify as being interested in women.
A final hearing in the Bumble messaging class action settlement is scheduled for Nov. 17, 2021.
The deadline to opt out of or object to the settlement is Oct. 25, 2021.
Claims must be filed by Nov. 9, 2021.

This is some serious incel neckbeard bullshit. Gimme a break.
I AGREE!
This lawsuit makes me angry. I’m a male who was seeking women and I chose Bumble for exactly the reason this lawsuit objects to. I met my future wife and we’ve been happily married for nearly a year now. I really liked the “women go first” approach because I don’t like wasting time on women who are not serious about finding love. If that’s not your thing, then use a different app… plain and simple.
I was on Bumble from those dates. I need some answers, not to happy. Please contact me.

I received this in the mail and have never downloaded or used Bumble in my life. My wife read it and was scared and upset. This is not ok at all and I’m pretty angry about it.
How did I receive this notice of settlement but have never used bumble?
Got the settlement notice twice and don’t have the app nor do I live in California. I think there should be a class action for that. This notice going to married men who do not have the app could cause some issues.
I too am a married man who got this letter. My wife opened it and is very upset. Truth be told though, I did download the app for a few months…..So atleast one of us is being honest I guess.
