AT&T Mobility LLC has agreed to settle a lawsuit that was filed by the Federal Trade Commission over allegations it charged mobile customers for third-party services without their authorization. If you are a current or former AT&T customer who paid for unauthorized third-party charges, you may be eligible for a refund from the AT&T settlement.
According to the FTC lawsuit, AT&T charged mobile customers for third-party services like ringtones, wallpaper or text message subscriptions for celebrity gossip, horoscopes or flirting tips. These charges were allegedly billed to customers’ account even though they never ordered or authorized the subscriptions. As a result, many customers were paying up to $9.99 per month for these subscriptions.
AT&T allegedly deceived its customers about the charges by lumping them together and making them seem as if they were related to the mobile phone services. Even customers who were diligent about checking their phone bills allegedly missed these unauthorized charges. The FTC has cracked down on mobile phone service providers over this practice, which is known as “cramming.”
AT&T has agreed to change its third-party billing practices to ensure customers consent to the charges and that it will issue refunds for any unauthorized charges. Under the terms of the mobile cramming settlement, AT&T will pay $105 million to resolve the FTC lawsuit.
UPDATE: On Dec. 8, 2016, the Federal Trade Commission announced that it will provide around $88 million in refunds to more than 2.7 million AT&T Mobility LLC customers who were charged for premium text message services without their consent. According to the FTC, the average AT&T refund amount will be $31.
UPDATE 2: On Dec. 16, 2016, Top Class Actions viewers started receiving FTC refund checks worth as much as $41. Congratulations to everyone who filed a claim and got PAID!

I too am waiting on the ATT settlement. Any idea when they will follow through?
Iam also waiting for ATT settlement check, but the other day I was contacted to fill out more forms, someone was objecting to my claim it has been going on for over 2 years so I told them to stuff it.
I am requesting the status of my refund
I have received the settlement payment from Comenity Bank settlement who submitted my name to the class action law suits. I also received which appears to be a unkind notice stating that if I’am late making a payment I will be charged 26% late fee. They submitted my name to the law suit not I.
I am still awaiting the law suit involving the Pocket Hose that stretches out to fifty feet but pops back on you.
Can you please tell me why Capital One constantly text bill payments due, e-mail, send out bills monthly, then tells you that stopping the text notices will cost me money. Is this legal? I have ask them to stop texting me, please help me.
Thank you.dddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddd
I went to ATT.com and logged in, then on the “overview” page, on the left-hand side there is a column labeled “ALERTS”. The following message was posted there;
Refunds available
702-xxx-xxxx.
You may have paid for charges from other companies on your AT&T bill that you did not authorize. Go to http://www.ftc.gov/att for information.

I have 4 different phone lines on my account and the “ALERT” message listed the specific phone number that may be affected.
I hope this information is helpful.
I’ve been an ATT customer going back to 2009, but haven’t kept statements that long. How do we verify if we were billed 3rd party charges? I’m sure ATT won’t be willing to help!
You Just have to submit the claim as instructed above. It will ask for an account number, and the phones numbers associated with that account… I had to go back and try to recovery old numbers, I could only locate 1 of my old numbers. I am curious about the att go phone number that I had prior to starting a contract. When you have finished the short claim form you will receive a confirmation number. They will also tell you that you won’t see the refund from your claim for 9 months. Hope this was useful outside of my thinking between the typing.
on 8/26/13 I requested a billing summary report because I was and am an A T & T customer. And my copy of request, which shows a case # and Control #, it states to be patient. I tmay take up to 75 days for summary to be processed and delivered.
TODATE, I have not yet received any billing summary.
What should I do now???
I filled out papers and signed forms back in October 2013, I have a control and confirmation number. Do I need to do anything else? The information above is saying file a claim.
