The Class is made up of all current and former owner or lessees of subject vehicles who, on or before Sept. 14, 2020, owned or leased and registered a subject vehicle or who, after Sept. 14, 2020, began owning or leasing and registered a subject vehicle for which an approved emission modifications (AEM) has not been installed.

Also included are dealers and resellers who meet the Class definition.

The following Mercedes BlueTEC vehicles are subject to the Mercedes emissions lawsuit settlement:

They argued the defendants intentionally misled consumers.

Mercedes BlueTEC settlement benefits

Mercedes-Benz has agreed to pay a maximum of $726 million, while Bosch will pay $63.3 million.

Alternatively, current owners or lessees of a vehicle for which a former owner or lessee submits a valid claim or the purchase or lease began after Sept. 14, 2020, are expected receive $2,467.50 from the Mercedes BlueTEC settlement and about $225 from the Bosch settlement, plus a potential additional amount.

Former owners or lessees are expected to receive $822.50 from the Mercedes settlement, plus $75 from the Bosch settlement. These payments will be divided equally among former owners and lessees who file valid claims for the same vehicle.

More information on the potential additional payments is available on the Mercedes emissions settlement website.
