i started going to a treatment facility for opioid addiction from my husband being prescribed oxycontin (we had a 17 yr addiction to opioids) my husband overdosed and died in 2017 which was when i sought help. i was put on vivitrol and gabapentin. i have overcome my addition to opioids, however now i am physically dependent on gabapentin so once again the doctors have made me a slave to another pill in which they have the power to take away at anytime. my vision is progressively getting worse and my memory is that if an elderly person. i am 47 years old but my body feels 90. i am still at war with my addiction. i unknowingly walked into the hands of the enemy once again. i feel so stupid for thinking i was winning and free of addiction trusting the process of recovery tasking gabapentin as prescribed now i’m back to being a slave. néver free and never trusting.
