Voting technology company, Dominion Voting Systems, claims Fox News fanned the flames of false election fraud conspiracy claims in order to drum up business in a lawsuit filed Friday.
Plaintiff Dominion claims it’s a victim of $1.6 billion in defamation perpetrated by Fox News’ post-2020 election coverage.
Indeed, claims of election fraud ran rampant leading up to and after the November election that led to the ousting of the prior administration after a days-long process of vote counting. The company was accused of illegally counting votes in a number of lawsuits filed after Trump lost the election, including in Arizona and Michigan.
The company alleges that Fox perpetuated conspiracy theories about Dominion Voting Systems to increase viewership, reports CNN.
“Fox sold a false story of election fraud in order to serve its own commercial purposes, severely injuring Dominion in the process,” alleges the lawsuit filed in Delaware Superior Court this week. “If this case does not rise to the level of defamation by a broadcaster, then nothing does.”
Dominion says that Fox News, a right-wing media outlet, knowingly perpetuated lies about the company’s voting technology affecting the results of the 2020 election.
“Fox endorsed, repeated, and broadcast a series of verifiably false yet devastating lies about Dominion,” claims the lawsuit, which also alleges that Dominion employees have since faced harassment and death threats over the conspiracies spread on Fox News.
In fact, in addition to $1.6 billion in damages, the voting technology company says it had to spend more than $1 million in beefed up security and measures to address election fraud conspiracies.
For its part, a spokesperson for Fox reportedly stated that it will defend itself from Dominion’s election fraud lawsuit, asserting that it took pride in its coverage of the election; however, this is not the first lawsuit claiming the network spread lies in the aftermath of the 2020 vote. In February, Smartmatic reportedly filed a $2.7 billion dollar lawsuit against Fox.
Dominion has also filed defamation lawsuits against MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell, and Rudy Giuliani and Sidney Powell, lawyers who worked with Donald Trump in cases alleging voter fraud, reports NPR. They are seeking $1.3 billion in each of those cases.

In a country with new viruses popping up every year why not start the virus there. It just makes sense.
The (favorite nations) bill helps the whole world acquirer cheaper medications but you know Turkey home of our guns and medications also known as the war starting country doesn’t want to lose its profits they paid billions to stop it through CNN propaganda they were gonna lose the last ditch effort was to release this virus to stop this bill.
This is such bullshit let me guess CNN requested this lawsuit… CNN needs to be sued for false information practices leading to the halting of insulin price drop for diabetics.
Fox news has been reporting news that is somewhat incorrect in a lot areas. I fact check before I let something on TV tell me what the News is. I can’t believe people believe everything Fox News says. Makes me wonder where peoples minds are.

In the Army, we were not given any option to vote while I was in basic training 2020. None of us who went through AIT with me voted. That’s hundreds of soldiers. We were not even informed of any mail-in ballot until I got home in December. I’m sure it wasn’t just us either. Of course everyone knows who the military is going to vote for so of course we got shut out.
By spreading lies and misinformation FOX NEWS one way or another fired up insurrection on the Capital
The insurrection started after they gas the peaceful protesters most of whom were military veterans probably suffering from ptsd when a flash bang goes off what do you think a wartorn veteran will do. The fact that their was national guardsmen kept in a car parking garage while this was happening doesn’t sound fixed to you astounds me. There were only a few guards around during the protest.
