A class action lawsuit has been filed against Bear Naked Inc. over allegations the company falsely advertised some of its food products. If you purchased certain Bear Naked food products in California on or after Sept. 21, 2007, you may have legal rights and options.
The Bear Naked false advertising class action lawsuit (Thurston, et al. v. Bear Naked Inc.) involves allegations that Bear Naked falsely advertised certain food products as “100% Natural” or “100% Pure & Natural” even though they contained Hexane-Processed Soy ingredients. A trial will be held in February 2014 to determine if these allegations are correct. Bear Naked denies the allegations.
U.S. District Judge Marilyn L. Huff certified the class action lawsuit on July 30. Class Members include all California residents who purchased Bear Naked’s food products labeled “100% Natural” or “100% Pure & Natural” on or after Sept. 21, 2007.
The Bear Naked products include:
- Heavenly Chocolate Granola
- Peak Protein Original Granola
- Peak Energy Cranberry Almond Trail Mix
- Peak Energy Chocolate Cherry Trail Mix
- Fruit & Nut Soft-Baked Granola Cookies
- Double Chocolate Granola Cookies
There is no money currently available from the Bear Naked false advertising class action lawsuit, and no guarantee that Class Members will receive any money if a class action settlement is reached. A trial has been scheduled to begin on Feb. 11, 2014 to determine whether Bear Naked engaged in any wrongdoing.
You do not have to take any action to participate in the lawsuit and potential class action settlement. If you wish to exclude yourself from the class action lawsuit, you must submit an exclusion request postmarked by Jan. 27, 2014.
