Squeezy Dumpling recall overview:
- Who: GIHNJSI is recalling its Squeezy Dumpling toys, and OKK Trading Inc. is recalling its Rainbow Mystery Squishy Bun toys.
- Why: Both toys contain water beads that can expand if swallowed, posing choking, intestinal obstruction and death hazards to children.
- Where: The recall is active in the United States.
Xiamen Liuhui Electric Technology Co. Ltd., doing business as Chenyuanhui, is recalling about 8,000 GIHNJSI Squeezy Dumpling toys, while OKK Trading is separately recalling about 7,200 Rainbow Mystery Squishy Bun toys, according to notices filed with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) on Sept. 3.
The Squeezy Dumplings are round, squishy toys with cartoon faces, glitter-like particles and water beads inside. They come in a tan plastic container shaped like a bamboo steamer labeled “SQUEEZY DUMPLINGS” and “SQUEEZE ME.”
Squeezy Dumplings were sold on Amazon.com from May through June for about $20, under recall number 26-738.
The Rainbow Mystery Squishy Bun toys, with a model number D08004, are translucent pink toys with a cartoon face, glitter and water beads, packaged in a similar bamboo-steamer-style container labeled “Rainbow MYSTERY” and “SUGAR EDITION.”
Squishy Buns were sold at various third-party retailers nationwide from May through August, under recall number 26-737.
The recall stems from a violation of the mandatory federal toy safety standard because the water beads inside expand beyond the permitted size. According to the CPSC, ingested water beads can cause “severe discomfort, vomiting, dehydration and a risk of death to a child.”
Consumers urged to apply for full refund before throwing toys away
Consumers who own either toy are advised to immediately secure the toys out of reach of toddlers and young children.
Consumers should write “RECALLED” in permanent marker on the toy and its container and email a photo of the disposed toy to the appropriate company for a full refund.

Neither company has reported any injuries connected to the recalled toys, and neither GIHNJSI nor OKK Trading is currently facing legal action over the recalls. However, Top Class Actions follows recalls closely as they sometimes lead to class action lawsuits.
In recent class action lawsuits affecting children, the manufacturer of NeeDoh squeezable sensory toys is being sued over allegations that the toys can overheat and rupture, resulting in reports of severe injuries to children.
