Pradaxa Recall Issued For Stroke Side Effects

By John Curran

Pradaxa side effects lawsuit lawyerOne drug is finally getting the recall that Pradaxa internal bleeding lawsuit lawyers have been calling for year after year. Unfortunately, the announcement by Boehringer Ingelheim is a bit underwhelming.

Rather than it being for the entire lot of drugs that still produce fatal side effects, the manufacturer is instead focusing on a single lot it produced recently. They are claiming that the bottles were improperly packaged. That would reduce the dosage entering the blood stream. Ironically, that would probably reduce the Pradaxa internal bleeding side effects risk.

Patients, unfortunately, are also being told to continue the drug until unadulterated medications are put back on the market. So the risks will continue for Pradaxa cerebral hemorrhage conditions thanks to the blood thinner. This, even as Boehringer Ingelheim face numerous suits by Pradaxa internal bleeding lawsuit lawyers who argue that the lack of an antidote can kill three out of every four patients who suffer from side effects.

That is still the major problem with Pradaxa. While the FDA recently issued a statement indicating that the bleeding risks for the blood thinner were similar to the generic warfarin, they are not the same. People who take warfarin and face internal bleeding have treatment options. In addition, the lengthy adverse effect profile is known to doctors. Few are aware of how dangerous Pradaxa side effects are, and that they cannot be stopped.

People who risk strokes from blood clots face serious conditions if they are left untreated. However, there is currently no “magic bullet” available to them. Pradaxa does not cause problems when taken with other drugs to the extent that generics do. However, hemorrhaging is a very real problem and it is one that can only be treated, sometimes, by experienced emergency room physicians who recognize the Pradaxa side effects immediately.

If you or someone you know has faced Pradaxa cereberal hemorrage conditions, you already know the dangers, but may still be focused on getting the right treatment, or dealing with a fatal outcome.
