Natren Gastro-pH Class Action Lawsuit Investigation

By Andrea Gressman

Natren Gastro p-HMany people have chosen to use probiotics in an attempt to live a healthier lifestyle. Some of the reasons why consumers have opted to use probiotics are to treat conditions like inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and constipation as well as others. It is important to note that probiotics themselves are not a scam, but there are times when a probiotic supplement manufacturer will exaggerate the benefits of their products. This then becomes false advertising. A recent class action lawsuit investigation has been launched into consumer claims that one such probiotic supplement, Natren Inc. Gastro-pH, may not work as advertised.

Allegations of probiotic scams make people vary wary of something that, when used correctly, can actually help people. According to a Medical News Today article, probiotics do actually provide support with gastrointestinal issues. However, the problem occurs when probiotic manufacturers use diluted amounts of bacteria that cause their product to be nothing more than a placebo.

The term “probiotic” is used in reference to the bacteria that are used to promote health. Despite being referred to as bacteria they are actually a good kind of bacteria called lactobacilli. These live in both the vagina as well as the small intestine. These were first marketed in food items, like yogurt. But then probiotic supplements popped up onto the market. Unfortunately, not all of these supplements have been created equally. That’s why a Natren Gastro-pH class action lawsuit investigation has been launched.

Is Natren’s Gastro-pH a Probiotic Scam?

Natren makes a number of claims when it comes to its Gastro-pH probiotic supplements. They claim that it is “convenient help against occasional indigestion.” It also claims Gastro-pH can provide the following support:

  • Intestinal health
  • Digestion of dairy products by assisting with lactose metabolism
  • Digestion of carbohydrates and proteins
  • Growth of beneficial bacteria

However, despite the many promises made by Natren, many consumers have made complaints that this product does not live up to the probiotic manufacturer’s many claims.

If you purchased Natren Gastro-pH and did not get the promised results it is important that you know your legal options when it comes to filing a probiotic scam or probiotic fraud lawsuit.
