TTEC Services Corp. and Health Net agreed to pay $2.5 million to resolve a class action lawsuit claiming they failed to prevent a 2021 data breach.
The settlement benefits consumers whose protected health information and/or personal identifying information was stored by TTEC and who were affected by the TTEC data breach around March to September 2021.
The settlement also benefits a subclass of Californians whose protected health information and/or personal identifying information was stored by TTEC and who were affected by the TTEC data breach around March to September 2021.
Plaintiffs in the data breach class action lawsuit accused TTEC and Health Net of failing to prevent a data breach that occurred around March to September 2021. According to the plaintiffs, this breach could have been prevented if the companies had taken reasonable measures to protect patient information.
TTEC is a technology company that provides services to healthcare and other sectors. Health Net is a healthcare insurance company.
TTEC and Health Net haven’t admitted any wrongdoing but agreed to a $2.5 million settlement to resolve the data breach class action lawsuit.
Under the terms of the settlement, class members can receive a basic payment of $100. California subclass members can receive an additional payment of $100.Â
Class members who experienced data breach-related losses or expenses can seek up to $5,000 in additional reimbursement. This reimbursement can compensate class members for bank fees, communication charges, credit expenses and other unreimbursed, documented financial losses incurred as a result of the data breach.
All class members are eligible for 36 months of free identity theft protection services.
The deadline for exclusion and objection was July 24, 2023.
The final approval hearing for the TTEC class action lawsuit settlement was scheduled for Aug. 18, 2023.
In order to receive settlement benefits, class members must submit a valid claim form by Sept. 6, 2023.
Who’s Eligible
Consumers whose protected health information and/or personal identifying information was stored by TTEC and who were affected by the TTEC data breach around March 2021 to September 2021.
California subclass: Californians whose protected health information and/or personal identifying information was stored by TTEC and who were affected by the TTEC data breach around March 2021 to September 2021.

Proof of Purchase
A copy of bank or credit card statements; cellphone or internet provider bills; receipts or other proof of purchase for credit monitoring, credit report, credit freeze or identity theft protection services (up to two years’ worth); receipt or proof of purchase for postage costs claimed, showing the amount spent, the date and the vendor.
